Hard decisions in life

Ladies…do you actually ask your husband what he wants to eat, or do you decide the main dish (say, “daal”) and let him choose between the options? Or do you make whatever you want without asking him? or is it a combo of all of these?

Re: Hard decisions in life

I usually do ask him... and most especially if I'm at a total loss. I usually ask my kids what they want for lunch.

I was just asking a friend today.. does your wife asks what you want to eat and cooks that.. funny.. and you started this thread..
Khair, I do ask my husband too.
I end up cooking what I want to eat in the end though :snooty: So pretty much what he says doesn’t count.

Re: Hard decisions in life

cook whatever u want...their lucky they actually got something toe at

Re: Hard decisions in life

I never ask...if/when I ever do he says he has no preference so I've stopped asking now. hehe...and when I'm wayyy too confused to figure out what to make I'll come to the GS household/cuisine forum and pick something from the newest topics/recipes posted :)

Re: Hard decisions in life

My husband and I plan the menu through the weekdays and then cook on the weekends.. in fact we have a list of things that we want to cook and since he likes to eat and cook, the list keeps getting long. :-D

hahahahahaha!!

aw nice! i tried to do that..plan it by the week...it worked cz we were both busy but it didnt work for very long :(

I always ask him what he wants. its a rare occasion that ill make something of my choice, or experiment and he goes along with it.

Re: Hard decisions in life

I ask him sometimes…especially when I am totally clueless or if its the weekend and he is at home…
now thats a different thing that he is never of any help…his replies almost always are either make daal/chawal or pulao…:hinna:

Re: Hard decisions in life

I always ask him...If I have something in mind that I want to cook I still ask if he's OK with it.

Re: Hard decisions in life

I usually ask him, but most of the times he has no preference, he'd eat whatever I'll make. So I go with my preference for the day, as well as keeping in mind what he likes/dislikes, that way he has no complaints either.

Re: Hard decisions in life

I usually ask him especially if Im at a lost, but if I have something in mind I tell him first before I go ahead.

Re: Hard decisions in life

my begum ask me but just to make sure she does not end up cooking something I want to eat :bummer:

Re: Hard decisions in life

Of course I do ask her. Occasionally when she has no particular preference, then I make something I like.

Re: Hard decisions in life

I mostly ask but in the end i make what I want to eat :D

Re: Hard decisions in life

hard decision indeed (!)

Re: Hard decisions in life

Have seen my mom ALWAYSSSS asked dad what to cook. Mostly she gives 1-2 options and he selects one.

Re: Hard decisions in life

I always ask him, and his response is invariably, "kuch bhi". But I keep pestering him till he comes up with something then I veto it and make what I had initially meant to cook. Sometimes I am nice and cook what he wants to eat.:@:

Re: Hard decisions in life

I always ask , werna , he keeps looking in the fridge for stuff that isnt there :emmy: Initially he wouldnt tell me what he would like for dinner , and when i ended up making say chicken , he would be looking for keema :smack: … so now I always get on his case until he utters what he wants :omg: … and I make sure to make it even if its short notice … Just want him to be happy and enjoy his food :@:
