Hi guys I need your help.I am getting my nikkah done in few days.I just got my “Marriage License”.However there is no mention of " HAQ MAHER" in those papers.My Inlaws are asking about it.I have asked Maulvi Sahib and he said thats its done “Orally” in Canada.As both of the families are fairly new in the country, we dont know what to dot about it.Surely it would create unwanted anxieties specially on the girl’s side.has any one gone through the process here in Canada? please help me out with this matter?what can we do about it?

our imam had a form for nikkah where we had all the relevent info, e.g mehr, witnesses, waqeel etc. the city marriage licence form does not have all that. Talk to someone in a mosque or islamic center near you or call Amir Ali at 416 596 0507, he did our nikkah and might be able to help you.
