Re: Happy Rakhi !
yah happy rakhi ![]()
Re: Happy Rakhi !
are there hindu members on the forum too?
Re: Happy Rakhi !
ok...you know it doesnt make sense for a muslim to say happy..(name of disbelievers celebration) to them, coz that in someway means you agree with the celebration, doesnt it?
Re: Happy Rakhi !
You can follow what you want. Dont try to impose that on others. Dont tell me that you have never wished Happy New Year to your gora boss !
Anyway, I dont find any wrong in it. Bye.
Re: Happy Rakhi !
you know, im not imposing anything on anyone. If i believe something then id sincerely try and tell others so theyd do the same coz id want everyone to be doing what is right, and if i see something wrong id want them to stop. i know thats not in my hands but thats down to intentions.
This is a discussion forum so whats wrong with what i said?
i understand you'd want others to be happy on a special occassion but its unneccessary to wish them a happy celebration when its against our own teachings...
Re: Happy Rakhi !
N nope..Alhamdulillah ive never had to wish anyone a happy new year :) (gora boss don't exist)
even though ive had it said to me by others i wouldnt say, same to you..maybe it seems rude but whats worse, pleasing them or sticking to whats right?
Re: Happy Rakhi !
Whats wrong with saying happy birthday or happy new years or happy thanksgiving ? None of these things are wrong, they’re not religious holidays or anything. Saying happy (holiday) doesn’t mean that ure about to go put up chrsitmas treees or go to midnight mass or start praying to saints and automatically believe in what Christians believe in..
So yeah..what’s worse, being rude and stuck up or being nice? ![]()
Re: Happy Rakhi !
you're getting me wrong! what ive been taught is the you're not supposed to say happy christmas and happy diwali and happy what not as we dont celebrate them and sayying happy whatever means we kind of agree with what they're doing is all good.
If you dont see it like that...then fine by mee go ahead and say happy christmas and all.
Re: Happy Rakhi !
maybe this would help...
'scholars have even stated that it is not allowed for Muslims to congratulate the non-Muslims on their holidays or festivals. Ibn al-Qayyim in Ahkam Ahl al-Dhimma (vol. 1, p. 205) writes, "Giving congratulations on the special events that are specific to the disbelievers, such as congratulating them on their holidays by saying, "Blessed holiday for you" or other similar greetings, is considered forbidden by the agreement of the scholars. Even if the one who states it is free from any aspect of apostasy, it is still a forbidden act and it is the same as congratulating them upon their prostrations to the crucifix. In fact, that is one of the greatest sins in Allah's (Subhaanu wa ta'ala) sight. That is a greater sin than congratulating them for drinking wine, having illegal sexual intercourse and so on. '
