Many Sindhis would be celebrating ‘Cheti Chand’ today. The first month of the Hindu calendar, Chaitra, begins on Monday.
Today marks the beginning of a new year and also, the beginning of spring. While Maharashtrians are celebrating Gudi Padwa, people in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka are celebrating Ugadi. Kashmiris are celebrating Navreh. Kashmiri Pandits celebrate this festival by taking a holy dip in the sacred spring of Vichar Nag and also inaugurate the new calendar on this day.
Happy Cheti Chand to all hindu sindhi's everywhere.
Just so you know though, not all sindhis are hindu. A lot of sindhis only celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha. Please put a little more thought in what you post.
We are happy and content with Allaah :swt: as our Lord and Muhammad :saw: as our Prophet.
Cheti-Chand, Basant and Navroz are Kaafir holidays.. I use to say they are secular but they’re not, first two are Hindu and the third is Zoroastrian so why should we celebrate them when we don’t follow those religions anymore?
yes ..we can give celebrations to those sindhi hindhus over thier eid or religious customs they are minorities of pakistan but it does not ever mean that we should start celebrating any other religious customs and eids with them as in islam there are only 2 celebrations..eid-ul-fitar and eid-ul-azha...and thats all....
well ...sir is it necessary that what iranians celebrate ..we should also celebrate....iranians also do many "other" things which pakistanis or rest of muslim world do not do...so do not pass examples and impositions of other's on us....Nauroz is purely a Zoroastrian custom from 2500 years of great Sassanaid empire of Jamshed..Nausherva..Khusro....Kaikoous...Bahman Javdia ....Dara....etc etc..it has nothing to do with islam.....thats why shiaism which is based primarly on the love, resemblance and residues of Zorostrian and Persian Nationalism has the main centre in Iran and Iraq which are Zorostrian empires for 2500 years in past till islam came there 1400 years back..well i do not want to touch this specific topic but just giving why nauroz is celebrated in Iran only .....Basant case is a bit difference as it is the celebrations of a season of sarso kai phool ..yellow in colour in whole Punjab in india and pakistan...it is not a religious custom or celebrations....still many people including me dislike it as there is a resemblance of muslims with hindus which is strictly prohibited as in hadees ...a person who follows the customs and rituals of any other religion is considered in that religion....

Having a strong sense of identity and wanting to uphold it is not being "narrow minded and biased".
Every community has their own ways and like to stick to them instead of aping every next person, honorable people are content with their own ways and only adopt the positive from other communities.
As Muslims we have our own ways, just as Christians don't celebrate Eid we don't celebrate Christmas but we agree with each others right to celebrate what they want.
