Its not that they actually believe “ex-pats” are unpatriotic. They only use this argument to defend their countries treatment of Salam. Its a defense mechanism. You dont want to admit an unpleasant reality, hence you try cover up your guilt by intellectualizing it, trying to make it something other then what it is. Being willfully ignorant for the sake of being ignorant, because otherwise it would mean learning something you already suspect but cant bring yourself to accept.
So people like “Zafra” know off the injustice on some level, but they dont have the courage to explore it further because doing so would challenge their world view and undermine their identity. Its willful ignorance plain and simple. And thats bliss.
Notice how “Zafra” and this “Dhoti” person suddenly scuttle away when they are challenged… Some inane ramblings and their off.
