**You must have read or heard this many times that happiness lies within you…i was listening to some motivational speaker today and he said that no one around u(whether its ur relations or money or anything) can give u happiness unless u are happy from inside…anyways my point is: how is it possible that behavior of people around u don’t have affect on you and u stay happy? For example,if ur husband is rude to you or fights with u,how can u be “happy from within” ignoring the external factor?..how can u be happy on ur own? How do u explain these two factors “happiness lies within u” and "behavior of people around you(for example)?..Isn’t a wife dependent on her husband for happiness?how can one be so indifferent and remain happy?
This is very true actually. I feel like if you have been through SO much hardships in your life and then you come out of it, you always feel so grateful to Allah taala that stupid stuff that other people say or do to anger you, annoy you etc. doesnt matter at all.
making others happy and feeling the happiness of their joy is the way to live in this world. :@:
I disagree to a certain extent. Depends on which people you are talking about. To try and please everyone is the CAUSE of your misery. Just make sure Allah taala is happy and stay away from trying to make people happy.

I think the speaker might have been referring to insecurities. Which we all have.
Yes, our SOs do have an impact on how happy we are. But should they have an impact on our self esteem? Our self image? Our confidence in our abilities? I don't think so. Those things come from within.
Happiness/inner satisfaction lies in doing/thinking/saying everything in accordance to the orders of Allah (swt) through the ways/lifestyle/words of the Prophet (saw).
It only requires an environment (gatherings of pious people) that helps to train the heart to start feeling, the mind to start thinking, the tongue to start saying and the body to start working in accordance to the ways left to us by the Prophet (saw), hence the heart feels the pleasure of pleasing Allah (swt), irrespective of external factors.
