Re: hang pic on ur wall

Narrated Aisha:
(mother of the faithful believers) I bought a cushion with pictures on it. When Allah's Apostle saw it, he kept standing at the door and did not enter the house. I noticed the sign of disgust on his face, so I said, "O Allah's Apostle! I repent to Allah and H is Apostle. (Please let me know) what sin I have done." Allah's Apostle said, "What about this cushion?" I replied, "I bought it for you to sit and recline on." Allah's Apostle said, "The painters (i.e. owners) of these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection. It will be said to them, 'Put life in what you have created (i.e. painted).' " The Prophet added, "The angels do not enter a house where there are pictures."

Narrated Said bin Abu Al−Hasan: While I was with IbnAbbas a man came and said, "O father of Abbas! My sustenance is from my manual profession and I make these pictures." IbnAbbas said, "I will tell you only what I heard from Allah's Apostle. I heard him saying, 'Whoever makes a picture will be punished by Allah till he puts life in it, and he will never be able to put life in it.' “Hearing this, that man heaved a sigh and his face turned pale. Ibn `Abbas said to him, "What a pity! If you insist on making pictures I advise you to make pictures of trees and any other unanimated objects."

May Allah preserve you, speaking about religious matters without knowledge or without consulting the people of knowledge is very very dangerous issue. It is like associating partner for Allah for declaring things halal and haraam for which you have no daleel (evidence).

Do you have any evidence from the Shar'iah to backup to what you just said?

Re: hang pic on ur wall

jzakAllah 2 every1 ..........

saying; “Angels (of Mercy) do not enter a house wherein there is a dog or a picture of a living creature (a human being or an animal).”

and one of those who fought at Badr together with Allah’s Apostle

told me that Allah’s Apostle

said. “Angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture.” He meant the images of creatures that have souls.

The fatwa below is from the English translation “The Lawful and the Prohibited in Islam” by Dr. Yousuf Al Qaradawi which is available on the internet at ãæÞÚ ÇáÞÑÖÇæí - ÇáÕÝÍÉ ÇáÑÆíÓíÉ](http://www.qaradawi.net/)
"Islam has prohibited the keeping of statues in the Muslim home. By statues is meant complete, solid figures which have not been disfigured or otherwise defaced. Their presence in a house is considered sufficient to drive away the angels, who represent Allah’s mercy and His pleasure. As the Messenger of Allah (peace be on him) said, “Assuredly the angels do not enter a house in which there are statues (or figures).” (Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim; the wording is from Muslim.) According to the commentary of scholars, a person who keeps statues in his house is similar to unbelievers, whose practice it is to keep and venerate idols in their homes. The angels are repelled by this; they do not enter such a house and abandon it. It is also forbidden to the Muslim to engage in manufacturing statues, even if he makes them for non-Muslims. The Prophet (peace be on him) said: “Among the people receiving the harshest punishment on the Day of Resurrection will be the makers of figures,” or, in another version, “the of Allah’s creation.” (Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim.) He also said, On the Day of Resurrection, the maker of a figure will be asked to breathe a spirit into it, and he will never be able to do so, (Reported by al-Bukhari and others.) meaning that he will be asked to bring it to life in order to reproach and humiliate him.

Re: hang pic on ur wall

^the hadith doesn't talk about statues - it says pictures; and some ahadith go to the length of saying drawing pictures. As far Yususf Qardawi, then his odd opinions on some issues are well known and not accepted. So do you have any classical scholars' view in your support? In addition, where did he say that you can hang up pictures as long as they are not in front of place where you are praying?

25 - If the picture of a living thing is drawn on the wall or on pieces of cloth or paper hanging or put on a wall just above the head, in front, or just to the right or left of a person who is performing namaz, it is makruh. Even if not in a living form, a picture of the cross is like the picture of a living thing. For it means to be like Christians. It is makruh to imitate their evil practices, even if not in order to be like them, or to imitate their unharmful habits with the intention of resembling them. [In fact, it is written in the books Targhib-us-salat and Nisab-ul-ahbar that it is makruh to perform namaz at such places as well as places where people are drinking alcohol, gambling or playing musical instruments, and prayers said at these places will not be accepted. Apparatuses through which musical instruments are heard and pictures that are haram to look at are watched are like musical instruments.] If the picture of a living or lifeless thing is on something upon which a person is standing, sitting or leaning, his namaz does not become makruh. If the picture is on the walls behind the person performing namaz or on the ceiling it is khafif (light) makruh.

Re: hang pic on ur wall

does this apply to wall hangings only

what about other things, like the box of cereals which might have a picture on it, or a pack of milk which has a cow printed on the packing
Is it okay to buy and consume these items?
