Do we have any handy-men on this forum who can give me some advice? I want to do some upgrades/repairs in my home, and I want to know what ballpark numbers should I be looking at when shopping for a contractor to do it.
I need my windows and kitchen door replaced. I already know a guy who knows a guy but I wanna make sure I'm not getting ripped off
Windows you should get done by the big window manufacturers, I would get the low triple pane low e kind of windows, make sure they install proper flashings to divert rainwater and proper talent around. What temperature zone are you in. Does he have any references? In our country, you can go to all weather windows. Don't cheap out on windows.
Also, ask for the window manufacturer to recommend installer
Take estimate from three different contractors.
The frame should be PVC, not wood.
I think you can get your window and kitchent door repair by the carpenter ...
