Yes when the tarkafa-o your daal and you can see it in your plate it is called daal tarka. If you do not order daal tarka then you get daal which was tarkafied once only when it got ready to be served in its pateelee. I had eaten at many , many desi restaurants , for months at a time so I know.

Yes when the tarkafa-o your daal and you can see it in your plate it is called daal tarka. If you do not order daal tarka then you get daal which was tarkafied once only when it got ready to be served in its pateelee. I had eaten at many , many desi restaurants , for months at a time so I know.

So they just put fresh hot oil with floating zeeras over your plate and charge you $6 more than the regular daal. Shameless morons

Apparently if you get salan from the rehris, or even the smallish restaurants, what they do is like have all the veggies in one degchi, chicken in 1, tael in another. so if you ask for matar gosht, they take a spoon from the matar wali degchi, 2 botis from the gosht, and add a big doyi of tael. tadaaaaaaaaaaa

there is a chicken made with hara masala(daniya green chillies mint etc)thats why it is called hara chicken.....
but generally yes restaurants are a rip off...so why do we go?
