At least in the U.S., I don't see a "style" with handbags. It all depends on preference for material, shape, structure of bag, size etc. If you look through large retailers like Macy's, Nordstorm etc., you'll get a good idea on what's available.
Kate Spade is a great brand; I own several purses from this. But I don't think there's such a thing as "good" brand. They're all good if you like how the purse looks and the price is within your budget.
What type of handbag are you looking for? Something to use daily? How big does it have to be? Do you have a price range? Do you like to carry your purse on your shoulder or on your hand?
