Hammid Mir

Dear Geo TV

Recently you aired an interview with Prime Minister Tony Blair done by Mr. Hamid Mir. I was so disgusted to see that Mr. Hamid Mir did a preposterously hopeless job, neither could he ask the right kind of questions nor could he ensnare the most shroud politician on the planet. A politician who can articulate lies in a way that he could sell ice to an Eskimo.

This is not criticism for the sake of criticism, rather I would give examples out of the countless bleeps and blunders Mr. Hamid Mir made.
As the interview progressed, Mr. Blair was asked “How does he see combating terrorism without solving the Palestine issue?” Blair answered “Both the problems are mutually exclusive” (He wasn’t as explicit as I am being). At that point Mr. Mir should have intervened and informed Mr. Blair that the two issues are more intertwined then Mr. Blair thinks or wants to think. The west has tried to end “Terrorism” by Force, why not kill the core issue that the terrorists use to recruit new people? Why not tie the cart behind the horse for once? But such apt journalism was not to be seen by Mr. Hamid Mir.

When talking about Kashmir. Mr. Hamid Mir let Tony Blair go on ranting and give hopeless clarifications. Mr. Blair said “well! We hope for India and Pakistan to solve their issues themselves and it’s not our prime most business.” Hell yes! it is, after all the Kashmir issue culminated because of UK’s mismanagement. They are morally obligated to solve the problem. But Mr. Mir was neither outspoken nor blunt. The two key ingredients that a good interviewer requires to get the facts out.

All in all Mr. Mir’s interview was lame and useless. Please get a more qualified person, or let someone else do it.
