yesterday was talking to a person, i would say in his early forties or late thirties, bearded with cap on his head…more of a cultural get up..very jolly person..

was a pathan…from even north of saRhad, i am guessing from FATA areas..

moved to karachi long time back so they don’t get a chance to go back to their village in FATA that much…he said they had to move here coz "bas udhar rozgaar kee kami hae..ab ghar wali bhee idhar hae…bacha bhee idhar hae..

…lekin idhar paani itna acha nai…

He's probably right, water is a big problem for the poor people of any city in Pakistan especially Karachi which is a **** hole, it's not filtered and comes through dirty broken pipes, for somebody who grew up in these conditions it wont be a problem but for somebody coming from a beautifull village being pushed into living like that would be hell.. Village life is much healthier and cleaner than city life, no matter if it's NWFP or Punjab.

Wesay sab immigrants apne ilaaqe ke paani ki taareef kiyoun kartey hein? my grandparents say that too kay hamaarey ilaaqe ka paani is very tanda and meeta.. :d

I was IN KArachi and one of the Karachi Person(Military officer) told me that… Well the Water is good here its nto bad etc etc…

And.. thats True… as… In lots of Areas of NWFP we have lots of Springs and The Water Level for Wells is not that much Deep … and the plus is the Quality of the Water…

Any body who has lived for some time in NWFP… and they moved to some other area… tou they will say ke… PANI ACHA NAHEEN HAY :smiley:

I don’t mean Karachi city I mean the shanty towns in and around it, we’ve drove past them when I were little and spoke to a few uncles from these sort of places and trust me it’s horrible, I’ve also visited and stayed in NWFP (swat, bannu) and the living standards are so much better, not to mention the eye candy which is seldom found in karachi..
