Afia, are you offering help in making halwa or finding a biwi?. I am more interested in halwa.

my offer of help was about halwa only ....later is not my field :)

anyway you got the answer ....u need to add milk ....!
how much...??? it depends on your taste
i usually add 1 cup in half cup of suji ....but there are some in my family who like more milk ....so for them its 2 n half cups of milk for half cup of suji .....!

suji , ghee , n sugar should be in equial amount ....plus i don't add sheera to suji ....i bhooonify suji ....add sugar n bhoonify again a bit ...then add very hot water (say half cup or so)
then add milk , a little at a time

when all desired ampount of milk is added ....just cook till its dried up ....n its ready !

hope it helps :)

Update on Halwa

I tried it out over the weekend and these are the observations I made.

2:1 ratio of sugar to sooji is appropriate as suggested by FF. I put 1:1 and it wasn't as sweet as the Halwaaee wala halwa.

I used cooking butter sticks and it smelled delicious - just like halwaee's.

That's about it. I followed FF's recipie and it turned out very good. I also used orange food coloring.

I think I gained a couple of pounds in the past two days. :)
