I did get that you had problem with the concept of assimilation.

Assimilation means (in terms of culture): **Act of becoming like other people in another country or culture. **

Regardless of a society which includes people with different cultures at war or not, the society or the country is multicultural.
Where did you get the idea opposite to that? People don’t have to agree with each other’s cultures to have the country called multicultural.
