Half of Indian children face sexual abuse

NEW DELHI: One in five of children in India are physically abused while more than half have faced some form of sexual abuse, a UNICEF backed government study has revealed.

The more I read on Hindustan, the more I learn. Honestly, I had no idea that paedophilia was an Hindustani tradition, norm and culture.

I only have one question. Which century to the Hindustanis think this is?

This is nothing to laugh about.

Children are Children no matter which country they are from.

India should do a better job in protecting its citizens from this kind of abuse.

The problem is that India has over a billion people.

I think India's population at 300 Million would have been a lot better.

Pakistan should take note at India's problems due to a very high population

Pakistan's population should not cross 200 Million or we will be deep trouble

It's funny how Indians and Pakistanis poke fun at each other's problems, whenever highlighted in the international media. Correction, It's not funny to me anymore.. it's highly disappointing and it pisses me off now... why don't you guys understand the SAME problems exist in both countries?

To my Pakistani Brothers poking fun at India's child sexual abuse problem, dont you know how acute the problem of Child Sodomy is in Pakistan? Sexual abuse of children is in high numbers in Pakistan also..

To my Indian Brothers poking fun at Pakistan's honour killings, don't you know how many female babies are killed or dumped in rural India?

India and Pakistan are both pathetic when it comes to Human Rights Violations...

^^ Yep.. I would like to see the official media release by UNICEF.. reading it on our pakistan's dailytimes doesn't give it 2 much credit.. but in either case... what I said its true.. Indians and Pakistanis should realize a lot of their problems are common !

anyway.. i grew up in a mixed indo-paki household and shyte i got wacked only once in my lilfe... (i think i deserved it though lol)

i still dont believe it. 50% of children sexually abused in our culture. not going to happen :confused:

^^ Yeah I find it very hard to believe too.. half the kids being sexually abused.. but I wouldn't know.. I haven't spent much time in either India or Pakistan... but from the Indians or Pakistanis I know... they all seem to be treating their kids like precious gifts from god... I guess the story could be a lot different in the middle and lower classes back home..

The intention to flame here was very obvious. One hopes however, that certain topics would be spared being reduced to point scoring, just out of basic decency.
