The figure ranges from 450,000 (Italian Police fig. ) to 1Mln (organiser fig.). Some important aspects to bear in mind:
a) There were hundreds of different organisations taking part but with 1 aim - NO WAR;
b) Dozens of seminars and meetings were held in the 3 days preceding the march covering all topics of interest to humanity - peace, food, health, education, ebergy, ...;
c) There were a lot of "respectable" voices warning about how historic Florence would be destroyed by these barbarians - absolutely nothing happened, it was all very peaceful and joyous.
d) This was a European affair (European Social Forum), with participation also from outside Europe but overwhelming majority of Europeans. So the war mongering rulers cannot dismiss this as the work of those "backward 3rd worlders".
Will the BB (Bush Blair) juntas listen and back off - PLEASE?

Dear People,
I have heard 200.000. I have heard 450,000. I have heard a million.

Look at what the CNN Report says:-
But a police source, while not giving an official figure, told CNN the organisers' estimate was "quite realistic" and that the number "could be close to **500,000."

u're finally getting it right Ali_R.. if I had investments in Iraq, now would be a good time to get the hell out.

Or alternatively, there's never been a better time to invest in Iraqi petroleum.
Ali_R, this is not your playground fight.. it's a professional military ensuring maximum results while minimizing it's own casualties. You don't have to be stupid to be brave.
