Unfortunately not, it was eid 3rd day and that was locked probably because of holiday.

I have visited Haleji twice, once in March 2008 and then in January 2011. Thatta is indeed a brilliant place to visit with haleji Lake, Kheenjar lake, Makli Hills and the Shah jehan mosque. I have visited Thatta 3 times. It is a shame the government does nothign to put Thatta on the tourist map.
I did not see that many birds at Haleji as sadly there is some sort of problem there. It is a very important wildlife refuge as once upon a time hundreds of thousands of waterfowl would congregate here and then you have the passerines, birds of prey and other birds. Sadly when I went in January 2011 there was not much in terms of waterfowl. I hope the situation remedies itself because the government officials do not have a clue!
