Not that I necessarily believe the message in the first post, but lets be fair. 'Baryani' is not a word either, neither is 'palao'. They are names given to dishes based on a variety of reasons. On the same token, its not far-fetched to think that daleem could have been the original name for what is now known as haleem.

Actually jab Aleem daal or Kaleem haleem khanay ki zidd karein to un ki ammi Daleem bana ker dono ko khush ker deti hein.

'daleem' is deliberate concoction, and languages are not made in drawing rooms.
