Re: Haleem in a Slow Cooker?

Yes, my friends and I have made haleem the slow cooker way in dawats and it has always turned out very well. I presoak a cup of each wheat, barley, channa dal (bit more than a cup), rice (bit less than a cup), maash daal, masoor daal and leave overnight. In the morning sautee thinly sliced onions in warm oil in a REGULAR POT and add one pound of boneless beef to it and the pre soaked daals etc from last night. Add Shaan regular masala or shaan shahi haleem masala 3/4 of a packet and "bhoonofy"/ fry adding water a bit. Add water and boil a bit. Later add to slow cooker and let cook on high for a bit, then slow, should check when possible to mash. About 10 hours shouold do it, more if you are fussy. Later, blend in blender to even out but do not turn into a thin paste. Its ready. Add lemon juice to it. Serve with lemon wedges, brown onions, green coriander, green chilies.

DO NOT USE SHAN EASY USE OR EASY COOK HALEEM MASALA with preadded daals. That one isn't good.
