You are right when says that an important contract ( yes Nikkah is a contract between two souls) can just nullify by saying three words...
Talaq has to be done in the presence of witnesses and their are other restrictions before one should proceed with Talaq... in order to understand the concept of Halala one should really understand how a Islamic Talaq take place
