I was wondering if you guys can share any ideas for “halal” entertainment for a wedding … e.g any ideas for good shaadi naats or nasheeds without string instruments??.. any special drum sorta beat thing for the bride to walk out on…
i’m so confusedd… i don’t want to have a boring wedding… but i don’t want to compromise on other things eitherr… i’m really trying not to have any musicc… please help?

I don't see anything wrong with music (especially on wedding). Again, don't wanna get into the issue of haram and halal but would like to talkl about just one hadith here. There was a wedding in ansar. Aisha (R.A) attended the wedding. When she came back, Prophet (S.A.W) asked her how the wedding was. She said 'It went fine Alhamdulillah'....The Prophet (S.A.W) asked 'Was there any kinda music @ the wedding?'........She said 'No'........He said 'It wud've been better if music was arranged as the Ansar are fond of music'.........And this hadith can be found in bukhari and other books.
Have music for your guests so they are not bored. Have separate area for women and seperate area for men. Don't spend too much money on useless things.

Have a lot of traditional activities...rasams etc and that would be able to make up for the lack of music. I thought our Prophet Mohammad liked it when little girls play Dhuf!! I hope I spelled it right!!
But if u prefer not to have music, have other activities!!! make it colorful!!
