Halal Sharaab

I heard from a scholar once (please dont ask me for reference, if I had one, I would not be asking you guys), that only 6 types of sharaab are haram, based on what was there source..

I remember him saying Grapes, I think he said Dates and maybe maze / barley .. I specifically remember that he did not say rice (there is a Japanese rice wine that is considered a delicacy).

Anyone knows more about it?

Re: Halal Sharaab

Oh my

Meaning Sharab is not haram owing to its effect but its ingredients.

I believe the confusion is in the meaning of Urdu and Arabic word "Sharaab"

Re: Halal Sharaab

In various hadith it is narrated that alcoholic drinks are prepared from raisins, dates wheat, barley, honey and grapes. All drinks that produce intoxication are Haram.
