Re: halal food in london
Go to any of the Maroush Restaurants or Deli :@:
You will have no problem with finding halal food on the go in London... East london especially :)
Re: halal food in london
Where in London will you be visiting?
Most Nando's are Halal, there is apparently a halal Maccy D's in Southall, Edgware Road (although I think its a little over rated now).
It really depends on what type of food you like and where in London you will be.
Re: halal food in london
Mmmmmmmmmm, I love the food in London. I've only been there a couple of times, but it was very nice. The variety is similar to that of New York. And FINALLY.......I had a REAL shawarma there! A real yummy shawarma! Not like the imitation varieties you get in the US where they never get the garlic sauce right! I lived in the Middle East....so I'm picky about how they taste. And London got it absolutely right.....and the desi food is very nice as well......and the chocolate!
Re: halal food in london
^ I hope the shawarma was from a Maroush establishment ![]()
Yep, the McD’s in Southall is halal, they also have a halal Subway there, as well as in East London.
Re: halal food in london
Theres this little hut like place on Edgware Road, I think its called Helen's. They do THE best Shawarma ever. Beirut Express are so rude and Maroush restaurants are better for sit down and eat type kind of dinner. Maroush Gardens on a Saturday night with live belly dancers...thems were the days. Now that they do all that Sheesha jazz outside on the street, Edgware Road SMELLS.
Re: halal food in london
You are going to be spoilt for choice in London, so I would not worry too much. Like others have said areas like Edgeware, Ealing/Southall/Wembley and Ilford have an abundance of halal places.
If you are sightseeing etc I am sure you will be able to find a Pizza Express or Pizza Hut, who both have good veretarian options.
Have a good trip!
Re: halal food in london
Dont miss Tayyabs and Bundo khan if you are looking for more pakistani type of food

I like Gifto’s Lahore Karahi on the Broadway:hula:
Amina when I come to London you are soooooo taking me to Tayaabs ![]()
Surely will ! ![]()
When are you coming btw ?
It could have been Maroush, I don’t remember. I think it was in Southall. If I ever go there again, I’ll be sure to try a shawarma from Maroush. ![]()

Re: halal food in london
There's so much halal food in London, you will be amazed!!!
Every corner has a fried chicken burger shop--for those junk food craving days--Texa Fry and Chicken Cottage.
Joury on Knightbridge is delicious Lebanese, Maroush High Street Kensington and Knightsbridge yummm.
Mawar is a Malaysian restaurant with delicious food, Baywater has halal places, then Edgware road
Nandos are halal is come london locations (but not all)
There's this Somalian Place called the Village in Hammersmith (walking out of the tube station towards Fulham Palace Road)--mouthwatering delicious
Re: halal food in london
Yeah there is quite a lot of choices in London.
Nandos, Pizza Hut (their pasta, is okayish...but when your an asian...it gets bland =/) MacDonalds, Subways, All the different takeaways as well as the chicken and chip shops. trust me, about 95% of them are probably halal =D
^ I disagree with that. Most Nandos, MacDonalds are not halal. Pizza Hut is definitely not halal but does have vegetarian options. Even the random chicken shops and doner kebab shops that have halal written in the shop window may not be halal, so its best to go inside and ask them and even get them to show you their certificates.
BBC NEWS | UK | Study reveals ‘shocking’ kebabs
*Some 35% of labels listed a different meat species than that actually found in the kebab.
*
Six kebabs were found to include pork when it had not been declared as an ingredient. Two of the six were described as Halal - food or drink permitted for Muslims, which must not contain pork.
uzzybuzzy...this is really strange 2 know that..its like a moral act that they must respect the other religion and its belief...how come this happens there??? strange literally!
i think we in middle east r indeed lucky to have halal food everywhere...being a muslim its really a luck....
Re: halal food in london
^^ cottage chicken i s actually pakistani owned chain. So i think they should be halal as they say in the window. Also you can buy halal chicken and meat from tesco/asda and cook at home if you want to be sure(if there is no halal butcher nr you).
Depends what your doing you can take your pack lunch with you. But you would be missing out on the lovely food available. If you eat at muslim owned restaurant you will be fine on the halal issue.
Also easter is a near normal day, tubes may stop early (12pm), but i doubt you will be taking the child out that late.
