Does anyone know where to get halal cold cuts (turkey, roast beef etc) in NYC?
Jackson Heights doesnt’ carry em..

Oo, there's an afghan place in Flushing that carries them I believe.
On a sidenote, have you tried the cold cuts at the halal deli on the corner of 8th and 36th? The roast beef is soo good.

^ Sandwiches or take-home packs? I love subway n all but it gets expensive eating out everyday and i feel guilty bringin that stuff home :(

The halal deli in Manhattan has sandwiches, take-outs. The afghan place sells the actual stuff. Sorry I don’t know where it is exactly in Flushing but me being the genius I am, I think it’s Main street :halo:

Can you eat the kosher ones? Those are available in the grocery store.

^ Kosher? I dunno, i dont think my mom wud allow it (even though she doesnt eat that kinda stuff), but if i cant find halal, ill go wit kosher..

Our halal meat store sells sandwich meats, have you checked at all of your local halal meat places? Actually, I'm not sure if the Pakistani-owned ones here in MD have them, but the Irani-owned one does.

A lot of people tend to be okay with kosher because apparently kosher follows more stricter rules than halal.
Just keep in mind though kosher may be as good as halal, but it is never zabeehah.
If you are not already aware please find out the difference between halal and zabeehah. Many arabic establishments that claim to have halal food dont necessary have zabeehah food.

I doubt paki/bengali butcher shops sell those things, my dad says its coz desis dont really eat sandwiches, so they dont sell it.. I seriously doubt if ther’se any arab-butcher shops in teh bronx..

Well the deli by my house says thier Boarheads meats are halal.. my mom doesnt believe em and honestly I have doubts abt it being halal..

I'm so glad that we can guy salami, pastrami and other cold cuts right in our grocery store.

Trade Fair carries halal cold cuts that are prepackaged. the turkey is good

It had been 5 years since I had eaten a decent turkey sandwich. I was in heaven!
On my way there, I was thinking - wouldn't it be funny if I ran into a guppie over there?
