Halal-0-ween! (Split from General Thread)

After the Holy Prophet :saw: came to the world with the message of Islam there were many things that were banned…Alcohol, promiscuity, killing in the name of feuds, women exposing themselves, intergender gatherings and so on…

However as time progressed we have seen many of the things in Muslim households become obsolete or fading away…Gatherings, Muslim women chilling out with the men in the same room gossipping e.t.c. have become normal and many things that were to be followed were thrown out the window…Today it is okay for a Muslim woman to go about the streets dupattaless tomorrow we’ll be seeing them in a bikini and we won’t even care…Slowly the faith is giving way to fitnah, and yet we fail to recognize it…

The word ‘faith’ is a very powerful word. It is said with poetic convictions that faith has the power to move mountains. But what kind of faith is that when you let go of your belief? Your faith tells you to do something and you don’t do it, is that faith? Or is faith something that you pick and choose? Or maybe it is something that you modify so that it makes your life a little more easier to swallow? If it’s solid, it’s faith, if it’s shaky, what is it?

Halloween was not one of the things prescribed by the Holy Prophet :saw: and neither is it part of our faith. He :saw: did say that ‘whoever imitates a nation is one of them’ (Abu Dawood).

The Prophet Muhammad :saws: also said: The Final Hour will not come until my followers copy the deeds of the previous nations and follow them very closely, span by span, and cubit by cubit (inch by inch). (Bukhari).

The Muslims are willing to celebrate Diwali, Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Basant and a thousand other celebrations that anyone practices, yet are willing to diss their own faith by saying, ‘Islam makes everything so harsh’. Problem is, Islam does not make anything harsh, it is the follower lacking the fortitude, courage and convictions to stick to its teachings…I include myself in that…

Muslims are soft-hearted people because their faith tells them to be so. A Muslim thinks, ‘Oh, if I don;t share the non-believer’s faith and celebrate it with him, he will consider Muslims and Islam arrogant and develop a dislike for them’. We however fail to realize, that by following the way of the non-believers and in an effort in trying to please them (Even as a form of Da’awah) we displease Allah :swt:…That is a definite nono…

Only Muslim can wish a Muslim Eid the way it is supposed to be wished, but a Muslim is one willing to celebrate a non-Muslim celebration to the point where it becomes difficult to distinguish a Muslim from a non-believer…It is as if the celbration was a Muslim celebration…And that too in the month of Ramadan…Inalillahe-e-Wainna-Ilaihi-Rajioon…

Today if I stop someone from celebrating a ritual that is far from Islam and even forbidden from celebrating, I would be considered a spoilsport mullah…Tomorrow maybe if I stop a man and a woman from having sex in the streets I would be considered a ‘fundo’…But then again, these are signs of the last day, may Allah :swt: guide us and protect us from His anger which is a terrible thing…

Take a peek here too…It’s also quite relevant…

^^ :k: Well said!

What brother Lajawab has stated is the right attitude the Muslims should have towards all non- Islamic festivals. By trying to be ‘accommodating’ and ‘acceptable’ many Muslims tend to celebrate these religious and pagan festivities with relish.

“Celebrating the holidays of the Kuffar is an act of imitation that is forbidden in Islam. Allah’s Messenger (saw) warned us against it. At-Tirmidhi narrated that Ibn Abbas (ra) reported that the Prophet (saw) said: “He is not one of us who imitates other than us. Do not imitate the Jews or the Christians.” At-Tabarani and Abu Dawood narrated that Ibn Umar and Hudthayfah (ra) reported that the Prophet (saw) said: “Whoever imitates a people, he is one of them.””

This may come out as being rigid and narrow minded, but then, so what? We should follow the commands of Allah’s Messenger (saw) stringently.

AS touched as I am by the obvious sincerity and passion you demonstrate for your faith, some of your opinions only disgusted me that I claim membership in the same religious club as you do.

At the very essence of your arguments is hte belief that anything and everything that we indulge in our lives must have been explicitly spelled out or practiced by the Prophet, or we could be disqualified from consideration as a Muslim. The arrogance of this argument is astounding. I just hope that you prove to be a devout Muslim and don’t arrange a Mehndi gathering for your wedding. I also hope that you’ll inform your fellow Muslims that everytime they celebrate a win in a sports event, they are just following the ways of the non-muslims, something, they could be thrown in hell for.

Additionally, as a sheer matter of scope, you failed to describe why Halloween was forbidden in Islam, not even a slippery slope argument similar to the one you offered against mixed gatherings (that one day we’ll get free live porn in the streets). Not one reason, not even a frothing religious law!

And gatherings involving men and women in the same room? Oh man, how shameful is this display of behavior completely defiant to Islamic standards! Allow me break it to you Lajawab, not only are you are weak and stupid for fearing your women, but also responsible for putting the bigoted and chauvinistic face on Islam. I just hope that with time and some education our women will figure out that they don’t have to put up with being treated like siht. Until then, my guess is that you folks will probably keep breeding.

^^ Zaalim, I wish you had replied to me as if I was a Hindu or a Christian, not your brother in faith…Your reply to me would have been so much more softer…:bummer:

But hey, I’ve heard that you hurt those the most that love you the most…Anyways…

I am not talking about cheering a game…I am one of the loudest people when India and Pakistan meet on a field…

I am talking about religious and cultural celebrations…

And as for treating women like s*** is concerned, I am sure it must upset you very much to be living in a culture where ladies are addressed as ‘hoes’ and ‘biatches’ and they seem to like it…

I only wish your apparent concern for our faith was just as apparent as when a few members ridiculed our faith…But then, those members were your friends and I am not…:bummer:

I see people defending the celebration of Halloween, as if their ancestors have been celebrating halloween for ages.

I see people in my town not showing up in the mosque during the month of Ramadan, but they are dressed up for Halloween.

Or Prophet :saw: said that ‘whoever imitates a nation is one of them’ (Abu Dawood).

Is that not a reason enough.

And what worries me most, is people are not even afraid of posting such comments…comments which directly attack the heart of Islamic idealogy.

Time and again people come out with the age old excuse, that Islam treats women like ****. Go and read…ever since i came to this land, iv been debating with people about this topic. Debating MUSLIMS…

We are all weak and stupid. We are all so stupid that we have forgotten our values and our princpiples. The values and principles with which we once ruled half of the known world.

Besides being rude, shows sheer ignorance.

I usually try not to get involved in bickering, however zaalim ...sorry, it was your post I found filled with arrogance, la jawab on the other hand I found inspiring, and as for providing 'religous laws' well like you I too am muslim, and asking for proof, on something wich is common sense and basic, for us muslims, if you need religous evidence it is your faith wich is rather weak, take some time and revise.

Well said, it is really the need of the hour for Muslims to move away from such stuff.

We should start by implementing this on our immediate family and set an example for others.

Sharaabi bahi, aap naye tou mairaye moun ki baat hi cheen li,I joined this forum back in April i think. I tell you I have put out more fights here with Muslims more than non-Muslims. I have seen people here commenting “WHO SAYS THIS UNIVERSE WAS MADE FOR PROPHET MOHAMMAD :saw: ?”.( and these words are from a Muslim). Our believes as Muslims weakening, day by day. As you said, we have forgot our values… we take no embarrassment in playing with the respect of Prophet Mohammad :saw:. And the worst part, it’s not the Non-Muslims but, very one of us.
Hope Allah s.w.t guide us All.

** Lajawab Bhahi** I am with you 100%. Keep up your spirit and we can’t do much but the least we can do is back up our religion and show these weakened Muslims the real values of islam.
JaZakkAllah for posting such daring and convincing post.
