I know we can perform all the hajj rituals except main tawaaf and do it later but what if later is not possible because the number of days are too little, also you do not want to miss the opportunity to read namaz in kaaba.
So from searching internet, it appears that the doctor will prescribe bcp to control periods. But when I asked my sister, she said her periods were regular on bcp.
Am I too late in going to the doctor ??? Someone told me you need to start taking the pill months in advance ??
I think it’s probably fine to start 2 months before but I know people who only started a month before and there were no problems.
Your sister is right, with bcp the periods are regular. When you’re on the pill there’s usually a gap/break of a few days between two packs and that’s where you have your “period” but when you’re going for Hajj, you just need to continue onto the next package without keeping this little break in between and that way you will not have your period.
Thanks.
Ok so right now I have copper IUD which makes my period heavy and longer. Would it still be ok ? Also my periods are very regular and I have no problems at all. Does it have any side effects ?
I think it would still be okay. The person I know also had an IUD and was prescribed progestron pills which she took 7 days befre her period and until she wanted her period again.
There might be side effects to the pills like all other medication.
I went to hajj last year i started taking pill just 10 days before my date allhumdullah i had no issue even if you are done wth hajj its good to stop periods so tht u can go to kaaba and then madina masjid e nabvi and after hajj we used to do daily tawaf also.
I have not taken the pills before.
Thanks for the information. Because of the my dates coinciding and our short trip I was panicking as my doctor does not get back until Monday.
Just remember to NOT consume any dates while you’re in Saudi and on the pills. Dates “garam” hoti haiN and I started spotting (while on the pill) after collectively eating 5 dates I think. But then I just doubled my dose and managed to get Paak within 1 day Shukr Alhumdulillah.
I did the same and it worked perfect; stopped the pills 2 days after returning back home after settling down from the short trip’s fatigue. Never heard about taking pills 2 MONTHS prior to travelling
My doctor is going to prescribe me Low Ogestrel which I am supposed to start taking when my next cycle starts. She did say it would have been better if I had 3 cycles to go but that we can try and it should be ok (hopefully).
I am puzzled though, are the pills in Pakistan different ? How come the women there take pills only 10 days prior ?
