I’ve been looking at Image Gallery 2, which led me to learn something new today.

Scientists believe that humans have eyebrows primarily for two reasons.
Unique facial expressions – they serve as symbols for displaying various feelings like anger, happiness or just plain old
Protection - Keeping off sweat, dirt or rain drops from reaching our eyes.*
I really think we can either evolve without them or shave them as a part of a cultural norm. Why? Let’s start with #2.
a) We already have eyelashes.
b) We have caps.
c) We have umbrellas.
d) We have napkins, towels, tissues etc etc.
e) We travel in mostly enclosed land and air vehicles.
f) We mostly live and work inside enclosed spaces.
g) We have helmets.
Right then, off to #1:
a) We have the ability to speak.
b) We have the ability to write.
c) We have colored smilies. (70% of gupshup smilies have no eyebrows)
d) We already shave facial hair above our lips and around our chin.
e) We have social security numbers and passports.
f) We can have tattoos anywhere we want.
hmm...eyebrows..in Islam its haram to thread, wax, pluck eyebrows for the pure reason that why change Allah's creation...
and about the upper lips thing i have a friend who does not shave her upper lips and does not do her eyebrows and she does not look bad and u can hardly notice her upper lip hairs....unless u look really her really up close to her face like...

a) Mullah Ali Qari (R.A) has commentated that plucking of the facial hair is haraam (prohibited) for a woman with the exception of moustache or beard hairs, if any woman is unfortunate enough to be troubled by these. (Mirqaat Vol.8 Pg.295; Ashrafiyyah). However, if the eyebrows have become so dense that it is unseemly for a woman and incites abhorrence in her husband, it is permissible to trim it to a more appropriate and normal size. (Ahsanul Fataawa Vol.8 pg.76; Zakariyya Book Depot)
