Re: Going to wedding…
I think some nice waves – like Giselle’s – would look lovely.

Re: Going to wedding....
venusflytrap, when i was getting highlights done, i went to a reputed hair salon in the area and explained to my stylist what look i wanted. She was able to find a color that suited me. I am sure if you find a nice hair salon and the stylist is good, he or she can understand what you want and work from there. People like me dont really know all the colors or the right terms so it helped that my stylist was able to interpret what i was looking for.
Re: Going to wedding....
^ yeah i was gonna suggest the same thing- fork out a bit more $ if you have to, but go to a good stylist who'll be able to recommend the right combo of color, highlights and cut to bring out your best features.

yeah im kind of pale :(...but i think you guys are right, i'll just fork out some extra cash and tell them I want to go with a dark color , but no so dark to where i look more pasty.
Re: Going to wedding…
I wouldnt go for Black, you have pale skin, black will make you look paler.
Id go for something Copper, something like the color of the canisters below
It’ll compliment your skin very nicely and you can bronze up the makeup
wedding hairstyles
Hi everybody, my brothers getting married in October and i've booked to get my hair and makeup done for all 4 functions (mehndi x2, Baraat and valima). I was just wondering if you guys could give me some advice on how to get my hair done. The problem i have is that my hair is cut into a "bob" style and is quite short (not even to my shoulders) and i'm not quite sure what she'll be able to do with it. I'm going to go and see her after rozay for a chat but i thought if i went with some ideas it might make life easier.
I dont want my hair up in a "bun" cuz i think it might make me look like i've got a fat face! I even thought about going and getting some extensions but i thought that might be way tooo drastic.
Please help!!!!
Re: wedding hairstyles
oooo she might be able to put in extensions and work with that.. ur best bet would be to maybe talk to the stylist or go in to see someone for a trial.. tell them what u want exactly.. like say for eg. u wana wear a paranda on the mehndi.. let them know.. usually theyll add in the extensions to make the hair long enough and then fit in the paranda.
For my wedding, my hair was sooo thin and light (even though it was long), that shirley (my hair & makeup artist) had to make a joora and then fit the extensions over it to hold my dupatta.. it looked amazing.. i would post pics here but i do hijaab.. lemme find them and ill pm them to u...
hope this helps..
thanks mysticalrain, really appreciate your advice! i'm starting to worry a little bit as i dont want to end up looking like an unteejee with a rubbish joora!
please pm your photos, i'm sure u looked beautiful on the day!
Re: wedding hairstyles
get a poof!
Re: wedding hairstyles
Heeeeey..My brother got married in august I live in Bristol and the wedding ws amazing and one of the best parts ws gettn ready!
Defo go and see ur stylist before the event..also gt ideas frm the net etc aswell, but my cousin has short hair so our beautician advised that she got extensions in ..and they looked amazing..she had them curled they looked so natural...but she had shoulder length hair and then got like 20 inch extensions..so might not suit u if uve gt short hair at the mo..
Do you have a hotmal address?..if so then send it to me I will fwd u pics of our hair on mehndi, walima and barat
We had diff hairstyles..liked full curls, tiaras on barat day, parandhas for mehndi..etc etc
Enjoy the wedding!!

Re: wedding hairstyles
I say dont do the extensions and just work with your short hair! Im sure your stylist can help you find a do thats looks fantastic on you and compliments your dress. You can use hair jewelry, flowers, accessories etc. Short hair is fun, work it!
Rabia we all others also want to se your hairstyles Please
Re: wedding hairstyles
You don't need extensions. Get a poof in the front or light curls.
ladies thank you so much for all your advice. Its made me feel loads better. I think i'm going to have to go down and speak to the stylist and see what she suggests. i really like the idea of having it half up and a couple of curls.
I even went down to the african carribean hair shop (we've got loads of em here in birmingham) and bought some fake hair to try out!!!!! i didnt have a clue what i was buying, so i turn up like an anaari expecting a load of untee jees to be serving in the shop and imagine my shock when it turned out that the place was owned by pakistanis and all the shop assistants were men! the guy that served me had a daari, was wearing shalwaar kameez and a topi and was trying to match my hair to the fake stuff. I didnt know whether to laugh or cry, it was hilarious. havent tried em on yet but i'l take your idea Rabi and see if i can curl it.
midnighteyes: i like the idea of using accessories and i'm going to try and be a bit adventurous!
I'm wearing a beautiful firozi coloured lengha on the shadi day and purple with silver kaam shalwaar kamiz on the valima. not sure about the mehndis yet. but i will try and post some pictures once i've got the outfits (at my mums).
thanks for the msg rabia, i've pm'd u my email address.
There is hope for us girlies with short hair, wooohooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
