I’m getting married next week and have no idea how to do my hair for my Walima!
I have just below-shoulder length, thick, brown hair and will be wearing a dupatta.
I’m preferring something simple, but still looks great.
It will be done professionally so extravagant works too. ![]()
Any advice or anything would be great!
Thanks a bunch. ![]()
Re: Hairstyles for my Walima…?!?
I have hair with same length as yours and I’m thinking about these on my walima.. look great with dupatta as well..
Re: Hairstyles for my Walima...?!?
I really like that second one! It's beautiful. Thank you for your input.
Re: Hairstyles for my Walima...?!?
Hmmm silly questions but in the second pic where the hair is done in the back..they don't really see that though when the dapata is on, right?
Re: Hairstyles for my Walima...?!?
if you have a chiffon dupata it could be seen but if not then it wont be.. brides do their hair from the back anyways even if not intended to be seen :)

Re: Hairstyles for my Walima...?!?
mmm so do they normally have it up on the shaadi day..and down on the valeema like the third pic...
in terms of whats in fashion these days
Re: Hairstyles for my Walima...?!?
and do u take these pics w/ u to the salon?? do most salon ppl know how to do intricate stuff the second pic??
for some reason..when i went for my engagement..they seemed like idiots. so i dunno if u should take a pic w/ u that way they know exactly what ur talking about ...
Re: Hairstyles for my Walima...?!?
not really sure about the in stuff :) I guess depending on hair length and facial shape the MUA decides.. usually its up on both days but again it depends
Re: Hairstyles for my Walima...?!?
for me personally, my hair will be down for the mehndi and the shaadi, but up on the walima because of all the facial jewelry that'll be going on.
and whenever i get my hair done, i always bring in a picture to show them, that way they can get it as close as possible to how i want it.
Re: Hairstyles for my Walima…?!?
the middle image, right picture. the sidebun looks AMAZING with a desi dupatta setting, esp where you have it pulled forward over one shoulder and the other end hangs behind you. not sure if i’m explaining this right but think of all the bunto brides we’ve seen and how they wear their dupatta.
like this-

so the bun would be on her left side, where the dupatta falls behind her shoulder.
Re: Hairstyles for my Walima...?!?
long height and long face. so wt hair style do i make? so that i dont look too long or face long . My cousin suggest ur bun should nt be too above u may look long. and many from front seem like desi. so any idea. i hv hip long hair.
Re: Hairstyles for my Walima…?!?
I totally had this in my mind
thanks for sharing
Re: Hairstyles for my Walima…?!?
I suggest you should not go for a hair bump kind of style, do side bun which ever side you like left or right.. also because you have a long face your tikka (the forehead jewelry) should be rounded in design rather than elongated
these seems really nice on longish face/long hair/height too
