due to male pattern baldness I lost my hair at the age of 23. I hae been thinking of getting them transplanted. I have seen several people who have done it and i think they look cool. i would like to see what people her would like to contribute. i have heard some myths that are scary e.g. it could cause cancer.
so would it be good for me to go for this?
Re: Hair Transplant Advice
r u a male or female?
It doesn't cause cancer.. they transplant patches of hair.. and sometimes individual follicles to the new site.
It's expensive and extremely painful.. a friend got it done and his facebook status has ever since been: "Z spent 4 lakhs and got himself a headache"
Re: Hair Transplant Advice
^Painful even afterwards?
Re: Hair Transplant Advice
but hair transplant is not supposed to be painful ... if its painful, then it means its not done right ... like acupuncture ...
He said it hurt for 7-8 months.. he got it done from a reputed clinic. It was the individual follicle transplant..
thats interesting ... cuz 2 of my male friends also got it done like a year or so ago ... never heard anything about pain.
i dont know ..
Re: Hair Transplant Advice
if you're 23, wait for about 4/5 more years until you see the final result of your baldness and then go for hair transplantation. Going at this age would not guarantee full head of hair 10-15 years down the road as you may experience hair loss in the late 20's to early 30's as well..
wait for 4/5 years and then get it transplanted. FUE is i guess a better choice...
PS: wanna get myself done too.. just waiting for 5/6 years..
Re: Hair Transplant Advice
I know a co-worker that has undergone this process and save for a couple of times when he has felt some discomfort, I have not heard of any major complaints.

how are the results?? are the new transplanted hair growing?? is the transplant undetectable ?
Re: Hair Transplant Advice
results are pretty good.
I assume the hair is growing because I've seen that he has his hair trimmed every once in a while.
I cannot tell that he has had a transplant except for the fact that I remember seeing the bald spots before.
Re: Hair Transplant Advice
Hello Dear,
I had hair transplant approximately 7.5 months before and now my head is full of hair.I had NW V11 and need 2 to 3 sessions to cover all my area. I think hair transplant in Pakistan now not expensive as it used to be in past. There are lot of clinics doing hair transplant and some are butchers( sorry docs but this is proper and right word).I did a lot of research and there are only one or two good docs here in Lahore.Their results are good and these two doc tell reality to the patients.
To summerise my reasearch regarding good or excellent class of hair surgeon, here is criteria.
1-After hair growth no one should know that these are transplanted hair if some one will ask you that you have hair transplant it means your surgery or transplant is not good and your doc is not experienced.
2-Donor area scar should be undetectable after 3 to 4 months and if there is scar in the donor area after three to four months it means your surgeon is not competent.
3-Hair direction should be normal and it should not be awkward.... if there is problem in direction it means surgeon is not good.
4-Your scalp or recepient area should not have any pits or tenting or depression on the skin.... if you see any of one it means surgeon is not qualified and experienced.
5-Your hair density in the frontal hair line should be dense and if there is see through effect it means surgeon is not competent.
To conclude you should look above mentioned points to any one who has surgery and then you should decide to have surgery or not from that doc or clinic.
Don't trust front desk manager or non doctor MBA consultant as he is earning for his language skills and he/she is not the proper person to trust.
After searching a lot of patients i had my hair transplant in lahore from Dr.Ahmad Chaudhry and i am totally satisfied uptill now and i don't have any headache or swelling or scratching as some one mentioned in the blog.
For JAANAAN, don't go for surgery at the age of 23.You should wait for 4/5 years more untill your baldness is matured.
Take Care

Hi,FUE is better but you have to go at least three to four days in surgery.Though follicle unit extraction is best for less then 1000 grafts.
I think future is hair cloning and may be in one or two years time there is hair cloning or stem cell therapy in hair transplant clinics
