So…I have long, silky hair. The only problem? It is fine…which I hate…because long hair always looks better when it’s thick. Does anyone know of any tried and tested products which thicken hair? (Not just temporary volumnising sprays etc) but ANYTHING that will actually thicken the hair for real? (Is that even possible?). I put hair oil in my hair about 3 times a week and while that helps it to grow and remain in good condition…it doesn’t actually thicken the hair as such. Any suggestions?
Re: Hair thickening products?
Biotin helps with length and thickness.. I’ve just started using Mega Tek as well..
Re: Hair thickening products?
definitely biotin.
Re: Hair thickening products?
I will definitely try it! I am starting roaccutane tomorrow as well and I know that drug can cause hair to fall out so will need it!

Re: Hair thickening products?
If you have acne (or are prone to it) you might want to give Biotin a miss or try taking it with Zinc..
Acne is a fairly common side-effect with Biotin, especially when using higher strengths..
Re: Hair thickening products?
^ ohhh I might have to wait it out then
my acne isn’t bad (I am seeing my dermatologist today who has previously refused to give me roaccuatne but I intend on getting my prescription today!) but it’s just persistent and I scar easily. I definitely don’t need anything which will add to that so I might wait until I have finished a course of roaccutane then look at biotin for my hair..
Re: Hair thickening products?
if you can’t use biotin then consider using castor oil.
it worked great for my brows and lashes…
Re: Hair thickening products?
iv heard accutane can lead to pregnancy issues, if you’re not married and not planning to for another 2-3 years( or not planning to conceive) , it should be fine. I went to this famous really good dermatologist in lahore , and he specifically asked me if i planned on getting married within the next 2 years , so i would advise that you read up on the side affects of accutane before taking it. It did clear up my skin a lot , but i later realized i was getting a lot of pimples because of the new asthma medicine i had started taking that summer. so id suggest if your acne isn’t that bad - probably you should avoid accutane
- the natural the remedy, the better for your body.
Re: Hair thickening products?
i have really fine and silky hair too - try with an organic amla reetha oil, not the bottled ones, if you’re in pakistan, you would be able to find real amla reetha oil, my maid used to bring it for me, im not sure where she got it from lol, but it did work ( smells really bad though)- did make my hair more healthy, though i used it for a month only . or mehndi for that matter , that makes my hair really healthy too ( specially when i mix it with coffee and olive oil )
Re: Hair thickening products?
I am married but don’t plan on having kids for about 2 years now. My dermatologist told me that the roaccutane formula has improved a lot and now you can start trying for pregnancy a month after coming off it…but I will wait at least 12-24 months. I am only on 20mg a day and he also put me on the pill to ensure I don’t get pregnant while undergoing treatment. Honestly though, roaccutane was the only thing that gave me stunning skin and it remained that way for 6-7 years. It is a miracle drug but I have heard that for some people the acne comes back quicker. My cousin took it and began breaking out again about a year later but I think it suits me. I am only on day 3 and can already see an improvement Allhamdullilah
I am so sick of spending money on countless products that don’t work and for me I think it is obviously adult acne which is harder to control so I wanted to before it got worse. I know mild acne doesn’t bother some people but it caused me a LOT of depression so I thought I would complete a course again .
