I don't think there's necessarily any particular hairstyle that goes with any particular clothing style. It depends on the occasion, the outfit's details and what suits the girl's face. Like if you have a sari blouse that has a lot of detailed kaam on it, it might be better to put your hair up. But if you're wearing just a regular dressy sari, I think it looks more youthful to wear your hair down. Sometimes, a chignon or bun can look too severe and auntie-ish.
Gharara--if you're a bride, you may want to wear your hair up. Otherwise, whatever you choose should be fine. Same with tang pajama. Some girls can get away with a traditional long braid with a paranda, and on others, it may look jhatka, and they may look better with a more modern hairstyle.
