How can I convince my mother that people still very much use a hair straightner, those straight silky straight hair don’t look bad, and you can do plently of other stuff with the hair straightner. It is a serious fashion issue. Everytime we both have argument on a hair straigtner.
She hates it and I love it
Also, how can I convince her that all the dandling earings don’t make a person look married
Honestly, I don’t like studs or small earings, I have few but I don’t wear them very often.
This is a serious fashion issue… so girls how do you convince your mom’s on all such stuff.
tell her married girls wear studs now, unmarried girls don’t. seriously. they all get those tiny earings when they get married. and the unmarried ones buy theirs from claires or some other store also show her your friends and other family members that wear that stuff.
as for hair straightner, i will convince your mom to get you one if you convince my mom to let me spend more than $30 on one
okay so why is your mom against hair straightners? is she afraid you'll damage your hair? why don't you convince her that you won't use it too often. only like once a week and on special occasions
Khumi, I have one. Anyway, since I started crying yesterday so she is being very soft. Last night she said I can bring all my clutter :D Though I know I would burry myself in the home but I am still going to take them..lol
Marwah, she likes my naturally wavy hair, she doesn't like them when I traighten them up. She always say "lo yeah baal istarii ker keah baith gaye hai" :D
darn...there goes my sedu! lol. my mom likes my hair straight, since they look all managed and stuff when they aer straight. but she won't let me buy a sedu :(

Girls don’t you have jobs? Just go out and buy one for yourselves and bring it straight to your rooms. Thank God my mum has no such objections. Infact she picks out jewelry and clothes and shoes for us to buy and we’re usually like mummmmm stop making us spend pleeeeease. I thnk she does that cos she loves the stuff herself too, heh.
my mom just has an issue with me spending money period, doesn't care on what. and before i got married i always wore big huge dangly earrings (every day too) and ever since i got married i've been going back and forth between literally two pairs, studs and light hoops.. :D
lol i would get it myself, but i know she’s so not going to be happy, and will totally get mad every time i bring it out, and would suggest 5 other things i can buy for that price
i agree with your mom abt the straightener :P i think your wavy hair is lovely. unless u take major precautions and use lots of good products a straightener will wreck your hair. Even hairdressers agree that straighteners are worse than blowdryers for the hair. save the $100 and get a great haircut and one good product for your hair type instead that will bring out your waves and give you shiny waves instead of getting caught up with straightening. its an addiction once u start straightening because then u wont like the way they look wavy and do it everytime.
my mom says the same thing about straightening my hair. she says it will mess up your hair and i didn't believe her at first but now i've learned of several people that blow dry or straighten their hair often and it's become really dry and damaged from all the heat. I have wavy hair and I don't really mind it but sometimes it's nice to have a change and nice smooth silky hair. I straighten my hair maybe like 4-5 times in a month and even then I use TreSemme anti-heat damage spray. Straight hair is sort of out now because everyone's always doing it. If you have wavy hair you'd be best just sticking to putting in a little leave-in conditioner for casual days and save the straigtening/blow drying for the parties/weddings or whatever.
My mom had the same issue but then one of my friend (who knew tht my mom dont let me buy a straightner) asked me abt my choice & then gave it to me as a present, & then my mom couldnot refuse it as it was simply a gift by my Best friend :phatti:
but I have got wavy hair too & I have seen that if I use the straightner often my hair looses those natural waves & become volume less & flat :(, so now I just use it occassionally after oiling them well overnight.
My mum always hated me blowdrying my hair straight or using stylers to get the curls out! This was in the dys before straighteners were all the rage.
Then I went to Uni and bought my own....
She still didn't like me straightening it.........................
Now I wear a hijab...and don't live at home...but still I bought a new straightener in the sales last year and occasionally do use them. When she's here, she now says, "yeh mere samneh baalo koh straight mat kar mairee jan nikal jatee hai!"
She still thinks I'm going to lose all my hair!!!
Oh, and dangly earrings...I remember the first pair I bought......the week after I was meeting my friend at the library for a research session for a school project and we both decided to for a change wear shalwar kameez and I wore those wearrings...mum made me take them out before I left the house and I wore small hoops...her excuse was what people who saw me on the way would think I was upto!!!!
