Hair should be charged with "Bringing the game into disrepute"...

Any takers ?

Check world media, especially where cricket isnt a top national game, and see whats being mentioned in large letters " Umpire demands USD$500,000 to resign" etc - so people who know little about cricket are finding out that Cricket is not a gentlemans game ! People dont know about the intricacies of ball tampering etc or whether Pak too 5 or 110 minutes to come out after tea or whether the umpires removed “bails” etc - all they hear is about corruption at the highest level !

So now, who or what has brought the game into disrepute ?

PCB must insist that as responsible ICC Members, they feel that its Hair, who has brought the game into disrepute and should be thrown out and banned from umpiring forever !

Re: Hair should be charged with "Bringing the game into disrepute"...

I was thinking exactly the same when I heared about the US$ 500k offer from Hair. He has brought the game into disrepute, not Inzi.

Re: Hair should be charged with "Bringing the game into disrepute"...

When Inzi walks out of a test match it is against the rules, when Hair blackmails ICC he was under stress. Wasn't Inzi under stress due to the bias umpiring of Hair? If Inzi's is charged with bringing the game into disrepute why not a thief like Hair? Yet more hypocrisy and double standards by ICC or is Speed trying to do his country men a favour?

Re: Hair should be charged with "Bringing the game into disrepute"...

I think Umpires (both) were guilty of the offense of bringing game into disrepute. Pakistan team and Inzi were guilty of delaying the game, it was Hair and Doctrove who declared the end of the game, and created a situation where Mike Proctor couldnt do anything.

Morgan, Sheryar and Proctor were contemplating a way to start the game, and when Pakistan team came out (probably after convincing by Morgan and Proctor) to play, it was brought into every one notice that Hair left for his home (as he is settled in ENG), even then fourth umpire only announced the end of the day game NOT the match.

All this suggest in first place that it was Hair (may be along with Doctrove) who told every one that "KISS MY ASS" there is no more game. So actually he is the one who caused disrepute to the game.

Re: Hair should be charged with "Bringing the game into disrepute"...

Shouldn't PCB sue him then. I mean atleast they can bring this case to ICC rather than just clarifying the 2 cases on Inzi.

Re: Hair should be charged with "Bringing the game into disrepute"...

To my mind another important question is the importance of the umpire!

In this case, the umpire had authority to refuse to start the game - that kind of power should never be in the hands of the umpire - the Match referee instead of a "chappa mar" or rubber stamper should be a person of substance - any important decisions like that should be made solely by the referee and not left to the likes of the Umpire.

Regardless, the charge of bringing disrepute to the game MUST be brought on Hair - Inzi should be exonerated - he brought no disrepute - on the contrary he showed all teams in the world and the umpires that getting away with bloody murder is no longer their choice. I suppose it also, unwittingly, unmasked an even greater evil known to this game - Darell Hair !
