Hair Salons

Re: Hair Salons

I don’t remember ever paying anything below $35 for a wash, cut & blow dry (my memory goes as far back as high school). The average price I’ve paid over the years is close to $55. If I’m adding a hair gloss treatment, add another $25. Highlights are expensive and combined with a cut, will definitely cost above $100.

Aveda is one of my favourite go-to places for a haircut/treatment. As Sehrysh mentioned, the prices vary depending on how experienced the stylist is.
I don’t think you necessarily need to go to a very high end salon to get good results. But I wouldn’t trust a no-name barber shop with my hair either.

If you’re in the mood for experimenting, you can try those groupon deals that can end up saving you a lot of money (usually a 50-60% discount). For instance, a place where you would normally pay $150 for a cut & colour, with the groupon you might end up paying only $60 (+ tax and tip). Keep in mind though that these deals are usually with a junior stylist where the salon is trying to train new hires and using you as their guinea pig.
