apparently, this is just a formality to have him officiate a few matches during his last year of contract with the ICC before he is let go. He will most likely not umpire any matches involving Pakistan, India or SL.
The ICC was bound to bring him back to prevent any further threats of lawsuits.

With Bucknor also booted out for sheer incompetence and Taufell suggesting he is getting bored by all the travel, arguably the Elite Panel has shrunk to an unacceptable level. What ICC has infact said, that they can tolerate a racist umpire, but not an incompetent one. Tough choice!

Clearly highlights the izzat of PCB on the world stage. Look at how much power BCCI has in comparison, it's shameful. Our cricket is in shambles.

^ It's not ONLY the PCB with no power, Pakistan as a country doesn't seem to have any power on World stage compared to India.
