Hello ladies, I’m in need of your help. Basically, I have a sideburn and I want to get rid of it lol I don’t want to wax or thread because it’s so painful…so please can you suggest some good hair removal creams that are safe to use on the face. Thank you in advance ![]()
Hair removal cream for face
Hi I wouldn't recommend creams, they will cause thicker hair and hair will come back quicker. It will only hurt the 1st time u get it threaded, after that u will be fine. I get my whole face done n it doesn't hurt at all. Results r long lasting and hair reduces over time

Is it? Oh that's a shame.
Hmm will consider threading. Thanks for your help :)
Re: Hair removal cream for face
Paheli has talked about using the removal cream on her face in other posts- she says it works well for her.. you could try to search the forum or PM her (or maybe she'll chime in here)
everyone's skin is different so the only way to find out if it's for you is to try it out
try one made for sensitive skin so it will be more gentle

Ok thank you, will have a look around the forum.
Yeh, you're right I guess it totally depends on the individual. I just wanted some suggestions from people who have tried and tested.
Thank you once again :)

Pink: I have never seen any scientific evidence OR studies that prove that hair removal creams make you hair grow quicker, thicker, or darker. My sisters and I have been using Nair for YEARS and have not had any issues. Eyebrows are the only thing I can thread. The rest of my face breaks out from threading.
So I use Nair on my upper lips regularly…and for special occassions, I’ve used it on the rest of the face too.

This is the Nair I use on my face:
Re: Hair removal cream for face
As someone said, it depends on your skin type and sensitivity to different products. I cannot imagine using a hair removal cream on my face but that's just me. As they suggest in the packaging, you should do a patch test to figure out if it works for you. You shouldn't be dreading about pain from threading either though. You can try that to find out that it isn't as scary as it sounds. ;)
Re: Hair removal cream for face
Thanks a bunch for your help really apprecite it. I guess all those things you hear about hair removal creams are myths then. Will try out the one you’ve suggested. Thanks once again ![]()

Threading intimidates me, the though of threading my sideburns is making me shudder LOL
I guess I just have to see what works for me. Thank you for your help.

Pink: I think you should give threading a chance. Sometimes our imagination makes things much worse than they really are. Take some advil or another pail reliver about 30-45 minutes before you get the threading done. If the pain is really too much for you, then you can look at hair removal creams. :)

Yeh I think I’m just making a mountain out of a mole hill lol I think I will go for threading and see how that goes. Thanks a bunch for your help ![]()
Re: Hair removal cream for face
I'd rather use hair removal cream than thread. Hair removal cream just gets rid of the hair above the skin, so is similar to shaving.
Waxing/threading the face can often cause the hair to become thicker because the facial skin is sensitive to androgens (moreso in desi women) and ripping out the hairs from the follicles can stimulate them.
Also, what you would want to do depends on the kind of sideburn hair you currently have. If it's thicker/darker than the rest of your face then another reason you'd not want to wax/thread is because you can then look forward to ingrowns and pigmentation in the future.
Re: Hair removal cream for face
I would not recommend those, get it threaded or waxed

Nothing to be confused about. All options work. You just need to find the one that works best for YOU. :)
