Hair oiling/Skin Care regime

How many times a week is hair oiling recommended? Someone has told me too much oiling is not good either. I am a bride-to-be so I obviously want best results. I am have been mixing about 4 oils together and applying it to my hair - after shower my hair is much much softer. But I don’t want to over do it.

Also, any other tips for a good and natural hair routine as well as skin care for an upcoming bride or if someone can kindly posts any links to older threads that they know off.

Thank you.

Re: Hair oiling/Skin Care regime

Everyone's hair is different. I don't oil my hair most of the time because I color it and oil will strip the color. But when I did used to oil it, I can only oil it max 2x/week. I have fine hair and doing it more often make my hair flat.

If you're oiling your hair everytime you wash it and you like the way your hair looks/feels, then continue doing what works for you.

Oil hair at least once a week, leave overnight and wash next day. Max I have tried is 2x a week, or just rub some oil at the ends with a few drops with my palms. My hair is thick, can be frizzy which leads to knots.

I have had better luck with homemade hair masks, especially if your hair is thick and long. Mayonnaise is great, adds extra shine and makes it easy to comb through. Yogurt is also moisturizing but I don't use it much because I forget to leave some out of the fridge, too cold otherwise lol. Yogurt is also great if anyone has dandruff. If your scalp is oily, use lemon/vinegar to massage it on your scalp before you shower. You can even mash any overripe bananas you may have as a hair mask!

Even egg is great for hair, just whisk it and use it on your hair. I don't personally like this one, drips everywhere, adds an eggy smell and if you don't wash out every bit with cold water, you will be walking around with cooked egg on your head. Yes, hot water will do that.
