Re: Hair growth

Olive Oil
Coconut Oil
Black Seed (kalongi) oil

Are known to work.

But since you are in Pakistan, you may have an issue getting a pure quality oil.

Hair loss can be prevented if you watch your diet and nutrition. While nutritious eating isn?t going to bring your hair back by any means, eating plenty of protein-rich foods and healthy fats can make the hair that you still have look thicker and shinier. You can also try different shampoo that can help in improving the health of your hair.

haha GS is the place where anyone can become an 'authentic doctor' at the call of a needy poster

Well my friend I would suggest you to visit Elixir hair transplant clinic ...

Oilve oil & eating (ground) flex seeds are good for hair growth. But research & test before regular use.

I would suggest you to work on your diet. Add raw vegetables, fruits, and organic food to your meals. You'll see the difference, InshaAllah. :)

Besides dietery improvements, you can also try some natural solutions.

While olive oil is best used in winter, coconut oil in summer, the mustard oil can be used year round.
Buy a small bottle of mustrad oil because it gets rancid and loses it's potency after some time. You can buy new oil every month instead of buying a six month supply. You can add herbs and seeds to your oil bottle. Add some sprigs of rosemary leaves, half teaspoon of fenugreek seeds, half teaspoon of kalongi (nigella) seeds. Mustard oil slowly gets infused with the medicinal herbs. Keep the concoction at room temp.and dry place.

This is an old thread but will post a few tips for anyone who needs them.

The rate at which your hair grows will not change no matter what you do... it's genetic as you said, and most people's hair grows half an inch per month (so if you're taking an inch off every couple of months, this could be the reason why you feel like your hair isn't growing very much).

Supplements such as biotin have mixed reviews and a lot of people say it actually triggered their acne, so I personally wouldn't suggest it. If you want to take a supplement, a regular multivitamin should suffice. Otherwise, just make sure to have a good, balanced diet, with extra focus on protein. Foods such as salmon, almonds, avocado etc are known to be good for your hair.

Good haircare matters in order to prevent hair loss. Be sure to use a good shampoo that doesn't dry your hair out, and if you don't need to wash your hair, don't. Use conditioner if you need it, or just put a little bit of oil on your hair while it is wet. Let it air dry if you can and don't brush it when it's wet. Try to keep your hair in a braid or a bun most of the day so that you're not touching it and it remains free of tangles (which can lead to breakage). Oil your scalp and hair with extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil before washing once a week (or twice a week if your hair is really dry and coarse) but no more than that - a scalp that is too oily can lead to dandruff and hair loss, and an unhappy scalp means unhappy hair.

It's more about what you put in your body than on your head. The main points are basically to eat healthy, don't trim too much, and leave your hair alone during the day. :)
