does it really damage ur hair in the long run? i use a hair spray everyday but not in excessive amounts, is that bad for my hair?

I don't think any chemical based product is actually good for your hair. Have you tried natural oils in your hair? Actually Pomade works well for men's short hair and styles.

Hair gel tends to clog the pores of the scalp, which prevents healthy growth of hair. Yes it does damage the hair. i saw these bald patches on my son's otherwise very thick, shiny healthy hair, due to excessive use of gel! Hair spray is safer.

i use lolane hair spray its quite good but yia u should not use hair spray on everyday basis but sis if u r not having any problem so far then why dont u keep enjoying using it :)

Ummm how does gel make u lose ur hair? ure not rubbing it into the scalp, only onto the actual hair..

The more you use these things the more vulnerable you become. It's alredy bad as it is with these Shampoos and Conditioners. don't you see white girls with thin hair--thnxs to all the fancy hair products.
however, it alwys isn't the case with everybody, my bro has been wearing gel for quite a bit now and his hair are still pretty thick.

I only wear gel on special occasions like weddings and Eids, it's bad stuff.
Normally I use wax or hair oil, my hairdresser had hair mayonaise, don't know if it's used as a hairdressing or just before shampooing.
Dry hair is even worse than gel though, it looks horrible on Asian guys, even now guys back home wear tight pants and side parted dry/bushy hair, looks horrible, over here Persian guys are like that it's horrible, rub some tel or gel in your hair man.

Normal wax and hair gels are bad for your hair/scalp, in the long run.
However Brylcream is not, and some even argue it's good for your hair/scalp.
