HAIR FALL

Now a days , its a common problem of Hair fall. . .
I want advice / suggestions, how to stop hair fall or to have a healthy and long hair. . .

Please advice seriously. . .

Re: HAIR FALL

You need to find out what exactly is causing it. Do u have PCOS or dandruff? Do u use hot water to rinse your hair? Is your diet vitamin/Iron-deficient?

You can cure it only if you are sure. Or else you will be shooting in the dark.

Re: HAIR FALL

well my diet is OK since i take every thing (means egg, milk, rice, bread, roti, meat, veg and pulses, fruits) neither i have any dandruff problem nor use hot water for rinsing . . But still the hair fall is so severe that i just have two fingers width hairs now :teary2:

roots pains so much if i left hair with out oiling. . . Im unable to trace the issue. . . .

Re: HAIR FALL

go to a dermatologist hun.... u will be amazed to find out all the different reasons behind a hair loss. It is not normal for a woman to have noticeable hair loss...especially at a young age. You will feel SO much better when a reason is given for the loss and you are given advice on what to do!

Re: HAIR FALL

I started having severe hair loss out of nowhere and it was alarming and causing me stress...i was doing everything right just like you were. And i am lucky have very thick hair naturally so no one but me and my closed ones oculd really notice the difference. I went to the doctor who referred me to a dermatologist. I was diagnosed with something that NO ONE ... not even MY DOCTOR or even my dad (who is a doctor also) or my aunt ( who is ALSO a doctor) knew what the hell it was. Only someone in the field of dermatology would have known what it is and properly diagnose me. I now get monthly scalp injections to stimulate the hair follicles. I still do everythign else...... eat a good diet....oil my hair regularly....etc. And a combination of all this has shown a major improvement.

If you have long hair (mine was down to my waist) the dermatologist might tell you to cut it in order to give your scalp "rest". So that is something else that I did...

And I also give myself a half hour head massage...to stimulate blood flow to the scalp. One can do this while watching tv or anything. Not a big deal. .... i was told to do this by my dermatologist as well.

So go to the doctor and see what they have to say.

Re: HAIR FALL

Just out of curiousity ... what was the diagnosis?

I have skin problems ... maybe that's also giving me hair problems :@:

Re: HAIR FALL

With severe hairloss, especially in young females you should go to the doctor and get blood tests done for anaemia, hormone levels and for autoimmune conditions.

If these are negative then there conservative managements but no cure unfortunately. Some people have had success with minoxidil but its pricey or high protein diets with regular massage of the scalp can help slow down the loss. It's important with scalp massage with oil you don't tug the hairs out of the follicle, so no hardcore rubbing like your parents did to you when you little!

Re: HAIR FALL

It is also good to switch to a shampoo that doesn't have too many damaging chemicals in it..... i go back and forth between baby shampoo and Amla shampoo (found at desi grocery store). I use deep conditioners..such as 3 minute miracle from Aussie. (but that is bc my hair is on the drier side).

Minoxidil is helpful only if you are diagnosed with alopecia. And even then... it is really blah in my opinion. I was NOT diagnosed with alopecia but the doctor still told me to use it and it really dried out my scalp and made things worse in my opinion. I went in for a second opinion (second dermatologist) who told me that if you are not diagnosed alopecia..then u should stay away from this stuff.

Re: HAIR FALL

I have no skin problems at all. Just random hair loss that started out of nowhere. My diagnosis was Telogen Effluvium... caused by severe emotional trauma/stress.

Re: HAIR FALL

is your treatment complete?? did u get rid of the hair fall and get baq ur original thick hairs?

Re: HAIR FALL

Well I am having a severe loss because of once bleaching my hair as I dyeing my hair. Biggest mistake ever!

Re: HAIR FALL

how do u care of hair now a days?

Re: HAIR FALL

Re: HAIR FALL

one of my best friends was going through the same thing....her doctor told her that 'sodium lauryl sulpahte' in her shampoo could be causing her hair to fall out, you could try switching to a sulphate free shampoo and see if that helps?

Re: HAIR FALL

Hormonal changes cause hair loss too, get a full check up done by your GP

Re: HAIR FALL

for me vit D was extremely low, after started taking supplement hair fall got better, I also bought one organic oil from store(in india) it has bunch of oils including chilli oil :) it does help, my hair is nice and healthy afterward..

Re: HAIR FALL

Mine too, sorted the Vit D problem out, but still no sign of improvement, then it was low iron, got that sorted out too, still no solution, then it was thyroid, got that seen to, and still no improvement on the hair loss :bummer: just waiting for the results from a new round of blood and hormonal checks
