*hair extensions* Nabila has gone crazy

I really wanted to share this with you guys, but it just disappeared from my head ..

so when i was in pakistan … i thought i would investigate into who does hair extensions, and how much it would cost ..

i am in holland .. and i came to know that the best place to get extensions is from this place is in amsterdam … and all inclusive, it would cost around 600 euros depending on a variety of things that you can imagine …

in lahore … i saw someone getting hair extensions at NewLook .. but i wouldnt trust them with doing something of this category on my physical being … they cant even do a proper hair color, let alone extensions …

but the CRAZIEST thing i came across … i heard nabila does extensions … soooo … i walked into her salon … she has clip-on extensions … doesnt do the glued/etc ones … GUESS WHAT THE WOMEN AT THE COUNTER QUOTED ME!!!

A friggin $1000 !!! i was like … say what!? :expressionless:

are these people f***ed up in the head?!?!?!? ya apni auqaat bhool gaye hain???

that counter-lady said that she owns them as well … and that they are so great bla bla … and i was like you paid a $1000 for that?? shes like oh no … ofcourse i work here, so it was discounted for me … suuuuuuuure … discounted enough for YOU to afford it …

ahhhhhh it pisses me off so much :mad3:

Re: hair extensions Nabila has gone crazy

OH crap, that is insane! You might as well order them online for 1/4 the price! And she was def. BSing you because the clip-in ones are much cheaper. Especially in Pakistan.

Re: hair extensions Nabila has gone crazy

who do they think live in pakistan? they surely have a VERY SMALL clientèle!

Re: hair extensions Nabila has gone crazy

Actually, no. The beauty industry is striving like crazy in Pakistan. I think maybe she thought since you were from outside of Pakistan so you were willing to dish out more money? Thats why I never tell people I'm visiting. Sad, I know but it works!

Re: hair extensions Nabila has gone crazy

Depilex told me they charged 5000 Rs (around 85$ at the time) for acrylic tips. Here, even the most expensive places dont charge more htan 50, but normal price is anywhere from 20-35. Crazy it ellya

Re: hair extensions Nabila has gone crazy

@ farrah… Ummm, not really they have a large clientele… they are always booked and pretty busy. I get my haircut from Kathy at Nabila’s whenever I go to Karachi and yeah, their prices are real steep, but since I don’t get haircuts here in US and Kathy’s cuts last me a whole year and once it lasted even two years  I think its totally worth it.

The extensions’ price though is crazzzzyyy… you should have asked her if they were some special ones or something.

Re: hair extensions Nabila has gone crazy

see even i dont mind getting a slightly expensive haircut ... and i admit i feel better with a haircut done in pakistan ... i can never communicate better enough with people here ... my last haircut cost 3000 rupees (done before coming back from pakistan) ... but then there is a huge difference between spending 3000 rupees and $1000!!!

but well ... my last visit to pakistan was a big shock in general of how crazily expensive everything had become. living abroad isnt that expensive seriously!

Re: hair extensions Nabila has gone crazy

prices have gone sky high in pakistan for many things.
it was never this expensive before.

Re: hair extensions Nabila has gone crazy

they must have use human hair extension of balmain its really expensive one fringe for 7000 pakistani ruppee for salons

Wow, that is ridiculous lol.. Even in the UK that price would make a person's eyes water..

Between £300-450 is about average for a full head of human extensions over here, synthetic can be as cheap as £150 and they're both usually kept in around 3-4 months (tho if ur careful they can last quite a lot longer). They can be as expensive as 2k but then ur really paying for the 'name' of the salon or a celeb stylist.. Clip-ins can be bought for as little as twenty quid on Ebay :D

Re: hair extensions Nabila has gone crazy

nabila's is super duper expensive anyways and for no reason whatsoever.

Re: hair extensions Nabila has gone crazy

^ Reputation.... doesn't everyone pay more for brand names? Waisay I like Nabila's... I've never gotten a haircut from Nabila herself but Kathy does awesome cuts.

she said something about making it themselves ... i dont know ...

Re: hair extensions Nabila has gone crazy

you guys are forgetting how much tax you have to pay when importing stuff into pakistan. it is INSANE. and if you have something delivered from amazon, chances are it WONT be delivered as some custom official has confiscated it. My father has subscriptions of national geographic and popular mechanics and if he is lucky, he'll get 4 issues a year. so the thing is, you have to pay alot of money to the customs @$$ holes, if you wanna get your stuff, so I can understand why stuff like acrylic nails and hair extensions are expensive. btw I got the most AMAZING hair extensions. I 've used them for over a year and they are AWESOME. they are clip in and I wore them throughout my cousins' wedding (after getting them dyed in my own hair color). Everyone was gushing over my luscious locks:p

I will post the link of the website i went to. I want to post my picks with the extensions in.. I might do that;).

Re: hair extensions Nabila has gone crazy

^ oh do that p p p pleaaaase do that! on one knee with rose :)

Re: hair extensions Nabila has gone crazy

wth kinda redneck name is "kathy"

hehhe you have convinced me:)

Okay these ones where the longer ones (maybe 18 inches or 20 inches). This was the first time I put them on, so they aren’t styled as well as I learnt to later on

These are the 14 inch ones.

Both of the extensions are clip ons. I got three wide layers of extensions for the back of the head and 6 smaller ones for the sides. They are very comfortable to wear and style. I bought mine from pro extensions:

Pro Extensions - Professional Clip on in 100% Human Hair Extension

My own hair reached my chin at the time of both of these pix
