Hair dye problem :(

I dyed my hair jet black 5 months ago and have recently been wanting to change it to a dark golden brown colour. A few days ago I used the John Frieda Hair foam, when I washed it out the colour was same as before no change what so ever. The foam has had really good reviews so I don’t think there was any problems with the dye. So could it have been because my hair was too black?

I don’t know what to do, what can I use to achieve the colour I want? I don’t really want to go to the hair dressers because my hair is long and they will charge me to much, so would prefer a home solution.

Any suggestion’s ladies?

Yes if you have dark hair.. a lighter color won’t show through. You’d have to bleach it to get the lighter color :bummer:

Re: Hair dye problem :(

My friend used it to go from blonde to brunette, didn't see a different whatsoever. It's terrrrrrrrrrrrrible.

Gina Is it safe to bleach hair at home?

Sweets ur friend used the John Frieda hair foam? I have read really good reviews on it, hmm maybe it's the foam dye thats crappy then?

Re: Hair dye problem :(

It's safe but I wouldn't suggest bleaching at all.. it causes premature greying because it strips the hair of melanin.

Re: Hair dye problem :(

yea I know but I am just so bored with black hair I might have to risk it :(

Re: Hair dye problem :(

I used a foam dye not too long ago. Can't remember the brand but it didn't do anything for me either.

Re: Hair dye problem :(

Jet black hair dye is the worst kind of dye u can have on ur hair, its literally impossible to get rid of unless you bleach it.
