My hair is about mid-way down my back and cut into layers.
I often like to set it in big wavy curls to give it body and volume. This works fine for the first hour or so but after that the weight of it pulls the volume out of the top and it starts to look flat on the crown area.
I’ve tried some hair sprays etc but the really good ones make my hair stiff and often take away the shine factor as well.
I’ve also tried root sprays but these dry out and irritate my scalp so I end up all itchy.
Can you suggest some solutions please?
I have a wedding to attend on Friday evening and would love to have a hairstyle that lasts…
I recently saw this hair trick on TV and it worked beautifully on my fine, straight hair. The trick is before styling your hair with a curling iron lightly massage a little hair mousse onto your hair. When you finish styling your hair you can just leave it as it is, without any hairspray & it will hold for long hours. About the flat crown all I can advise is backcombing your hair at the roots, although it is very damaging, I myself had it done from a salon before a shaadi & it kept the volume I so wanted. Try these out, I hope it works for you :)
^ I was going to suggest the same, when your hair is wet apply a little bit of mousse to the roots and to keep the ‘bounce’ why don’t you tease a few sections on the crown area?
