Hair Colouring

Re: Hair Colouring

why would a guy worry?:D

Re: Hair Colouring

its a trend for a while now among some paki women to get blond highlights-
I think the blond highlights suit only a few desi women and the rest just look trashy
Not to be offensive to anyone but i have seen some paki women with blond highlights look as though they are from a red light area or something

Re: Hair Colouring

exactly! :cb:

i recently got red highlights, everyone thinks it looks funky, me happy so far

Re: Hair Colouring

I don't believe in that sort of extremism. We are the creation of Allah and there is nothing wrong in appreciating the beauty of His creation. BUT, there is a proper way to do things, with sharam and haya (I don't know what I'm referring to; just talking in general).

I guess the hair colouring looks okay on some people but most times it looks fake and like the girl is trying too hard. If the girl can pull it off then more power to her. But I guess we should do whatever makes us happy.

Re: Hair Colouring

for the same reason men shaves their beards and mustache:o

which is TO LOOK YOUNGER!

blond hair and hairless face are children and early teens attributes;)

that's why they are highly prized by the people who want to look pretty (=young and healthy)

Re: Hair Colouring

As most of the pepz said before me, gals dye their hair for a new look. Some of the gals go through a rough time and hence change their appearance to get over whtever happened in the past. But mainly its coz they get sick of one look :). I always wanted to dye mine bronze color but didnt coz my mum started it when she was about my age, which made her hair light and even started to turn um white at an early age too. Anyway my hair automatically changes it color (from dark brown to light brown) , dont know y.

Re: Hair Colouring

some natural dying of hair can occur under some vitamin lack, don't remember which exact stuff it is, but iread somewhere long ago, that some vitamin lack can lead to lighter hair...
it was about kids on some islands in the pacific having blond hair due to that, while all other similar people have black ones.

Re: Hair Colouring

Thats not true at all. Men shave to look clean; not to look younger. Facial hair is kept by some because of its religous conatations. For example, I keep a trimmed beard during ramzan because its a holy month. Although, I really should keep it permenantly but Ammi doesn’t like it  .

Re: Hair Colouring

To be honest, I really find natural, original hair to be pleasant looking (especially if its Naturally brown, but you guys already know that :).

Re: Hair Colouring

oh men men men...go get a life and leave us ladies alone...always worrying about things that shouldnt concern them.
By the way i color my hair and i love it...so if i love it you must love it too...and if you dont than who the hell cares.

Re: Hair Colouring

Anil, son, you're a 20 year old chooza right now, when you hit puberty, you'll understand these things.

I also like how your beliefs switch back and forth to suit your needs, women should wear burqa and cover themselves up, but you should be able to appreciate their beauty. Young fella me lad, I have to think that a lot of people here don't take you seriously because you're obviously a child and don't know a woman and her wants from a ginger root. Your'e 20 years old and you say things like "ammi won't let me...", for crying out loud, grow up.

Re: Hair Colouring

a) I never said women should wear a burqa. When I say cover themselves up, I mean nothing should be revealing. A simple shalwar kameez with dupatta achieves this. I have always said that I'm not an extremist.

b) Hehe; the second part when you said "ammi won't let me" is funny but not true. I said ammi doesn't like it. What is the harm in reffering to your mom with "Ammi"? I'm not going to call her by her name, obviously. And to be honest, even when I'm 49, I'll still listen to what my "ammi" says because that would be giving respect to her.

c) As far as puberty is concerned, it has come and went with many chances to explore what women want; but by the grace of Allah I've always maintained a straight and islamic path.

P.S. I can see where your post was coming from but I hope I've cleared away any misconceptions.

Re: Hair Colouring

Hey whats wrong wht listening to ur ammi??? :grumpy:

Re: Hair Colouring

Yeah, what’s wrong with that???
Mother’s always come first
Shouldn’t u know that by now???:grumpy:

Re: Hair Colouring

think deeper anil, so you should know cleanliness is a state of purity that can be measured by smell, which reaveals a low bacterial presence on skin, while dirtiness is smelling strong due to which bacterial activity on the skin : degradation of the sweat molecules

so how can you “look clean” that is a non sense that only shallow mind can believe!

you can’t look a bacterial content without microscope:D!

you may believe that shaving makes you look clean, but in fact shaving is performed because bacteria love hair to shelter them!
so less hair means less bacteria, and therefore more clealiness!

but most western men shave only facial hair instead of body hair (except muslims), though body hair is most prone to dirtiness! shaving skull for men who have lots of dandruff is also far more “clean” than shaving beard.

so the initial question remain, why men shave? for cleanliness not really i’ve just said body hair would be more appropraite for that.
so as i said men have been shaving their facial hair shaved to look young, for example the greek ephebes (young men used for sexual pleasure) in antic greece where symbolised by imberb face, while old powerfull (ie, rich and cruel) men had beards.

modern men may not be aware of the social, cultural roots of their rituals : for example shaving, but the association of a cleanshaved face with youth and sexual attraction is more convincing than suposed cleanliness.

obvioulsy women do not dye hair for cleanliness, though women are more prone to lice than men (and children are even more prone to it because they hair is naturally more dry, lice like non greasy hair:D). so dying hair is a way to suppress lice, as those chemical treatments are very effective to kill any pest!

other reason is youth, women have been known in europe to dye their hair blonder (the famous venitian blond!) since antic Rome! and then Venice at the renaissance time!

lemon applied to scalp and dried under sun, or even fermented piss (ammonia!) have been used for that purpose since ancient time!

women did not do it for “change in look” as some girl said it here, it is a modern thing to do to hairstylist to have a change in style just like you go shopping new clothes.
No women did it to look younger ,because blond hair is more prevalent in kids, and puberty usually is the end of blond hair, except for a minority of people, especially living in north europe.

nowadays women can change their haircolor as they wish, but still blond hair is said to be nicer, because it is still associated to youth! so lots of women highlight their hair while they could all go black haired

Re: Hair Colouring

perfect example of the youth effect!

paris choose very light blond hair and blue eyes (lenses) to look as young as she could :Pretty:, very slim figure is also a characteristic of young teenage girls that Paris is promoting;)

and she sticks to that look, cause she is smart enough to know that’s the most attractive for men  ( and money:halo:)

Re: Hair Colouring

Abay oh saaray ammi kay baccho, the point is not that you call your ammi ammi, i call my mother maa. The point is also not listening to your ammi. The point is that at some point you have to cut the cord and start making your own decisions, it's called growing up, ammi kay palloo main saari zindagi guzaarna is childish. I love, adore, respect my mother and would give her the world if I could, but I do make my own decisions. Sometimes ammi doesn't agree with my decisions, but that is part of growing up, making your own decisions/mistakes. Pakistani males tend to be mama's boys until they get married and then expect their wives to fill the void left by their mothers. It's tragic really.

Re: Hair Colouring

aahmed, you're right. It doesn't matter how often a Pakistani husband changes his job; he still ends up with the same boss.

Anil Beta, tell me why doesn't women have anything to wear when their closet is filled?

Ans:'you just don't understand, okay!!!'

Women spend hours dressing up and coloring their hair to go out, after that they'll spend even more hours checking out other women. In the end, they'll brush their hair before going to bed.

Simple logic, people!

Re: Hair Colouring

Agreed with what I've highlighted. What part of my post(s) gave you the impression that I run to my mom whenever I need make a decision?

Previously, I just made the comment that my mum doesn't like to see me with a beard; It was really tounge and cheek.
