Hair Color Recommendation Please?

Hi guppies,

I’m quite bored with my actual hair color which is dark brown and am contemplating getting them colored and highlighted although the thought sort of scares me. I AM very much concerned about the effect it would have on my hair shaft…My hair is very shiny, straight and silky. Don’t want to get a drastic transition in terms of color and therefore would be considering shades of brown only (may be such as espresso color) with few highlights…Please recommend what colors plus highlights would suit my skin tone?

I’m considering three salons to get it done from so far…Vidal Sasoon, L’attitudes, or Donato…If someone knows about a salon in Toronto which provides quality service and charges less than the ones I mentioned, then let me know please.

Please don't have it bleached, Mashallah u have nice hair (as u say) how about using one of those hair-tints and do it all over u're hair instead of highlights? Roasted coffee, auburn perhaps?

how do u not get ur hair bleached when salons highlight it???

Re: Hair Color Recommendation Please?

you have to bleach the hair first....to strip off the black color...then use the toner to highlight the bleached hair...there are red highlights, blonde ones..copper...chestnut..etc.....you cant just color your hair any color you want..even blondes have have to bleach their color to get highlights...same goes for grey hair....any permanent color you do...uses bleach

wish...dont do highlights...keep it one color...but healthy...you can do a dark brown.....remember...any red you do..you will have a hard time keeping it looking fresh...red fades the fastest!! brown will remain fresh the longest...blonde will just make it look very 'straw' like...

^ Yup! For any color to penetrate thru u're hair it needs to be stripped of color (melanin) and that sumtimes is perm damage..(hair can go white!) But that's the only way u'd get the perfect swatch color! Dye u're hair a nice roasted mocha, auburn that'll look pretty! Highlights and lowlights aren't really in fashion right now.. (they'll never go out of fashion in Pak though)
