Hair care

when i have oil in my hair i use a shampoo by avalon organics called biotin thickening shampoo. I dont think the herbal wash would work with removing oil because it is way too mild.
as for shampoos i have not found the perfect shampoo yet :( something that volumizes but doesnt dry out the hair...is that too much to ask for?!!

Re: Hair care

I've been using Aubrey Organics Shampoo for a while and so far liking it. It's mild and all natural and leaves hair feeling fresh and bouncy. Also, I've noticed one big change after I began using it and that is my hair doesn't get greasy by the end of the day as it used to be when I was using drug-store brand shampoos.

In the morning:
take a towel and dampen
heat towel in the microwave for 2 minutes
wrap hair in towel and enjoy the sensation. you can pair this with a nice facial massage and steam your face as well.
if you have time, repeat during the course of the day.
wash hair as usual

I should stop being so lazy and try something like this! I just rub in some olive oil for about 30 minutes about 3 times a week and then wash

Sahar do you wash your towel everytime afterwards? And isnt there a chance for the towel to catch on fire in the microwave?

Re: Hair care

Coconut oil works well on hair and hands.

Re: Hair care

i use almond oil and usually put oil in about once a month. I found the bellow on the internet

  1. Almond Oil - whose beneficial properties include reducing aches, pains and stiffness, and generally promoting healthy hair.
  2. Coconut Oil - this is good for moisturising the skin and encouraging hair growth. It also balances the body.
  3. Mustard Oil - like almond oil it is useful for relieving aches, pains and stiffness. It can be used to reduce swelling and is also good for purifying the blood by opening the pores.
  4. Olive Oil - has very similar properties to mustard oil but without the pungent smell.
  5. Sesame Oil - this is probably the most commonly used oil. It can be used to relieve aches, pains and stiffness but is also said to benefit hair growth and reduce greying while promoting a natural shine.

Almond, sesame, and mustard oil are very difficult to wash-out. If u want to use the amla/shikakai/reetha powder then heat some oil (coconut) and add a tablespoon of each powder and let it steep for an hour..and place it in the sun for a week. Strain and use this oil just on the scalp.

You're entire hair-shaft doesnt need to be covered, but be sure and apply oil to the ends. Rubbing u're scalp with normal table-salt (dry hair) exfoliates it and makes blood circulation better.

Pantene has great "hair oil replacement" creams.. make u're hair soft and more manageable too.

which one are u using? I used to use the GPB. it shampoo and i remember it was pretty good.

shweeetz... I used Amplify by Matrix for volumizing and it did wonders.. I stopped using it because it was $17 each for shampoo n conditioner.. had to cut back on expenses!!!!Once I am rich again, I will be using it!!! :D

Since I do it once a week, yes, I wash the towel. As for catching fire -- I hadn't thought about that!

Re: Hair care

Oh once a week! Ok that makes sense, I though you did it everyday!

thanks...i'll try this. im wary of shampoos with Sodium laureth sulfate and try to use natural ones but i'll do anything for volume!
