While I was at the parlour today, a group of girls were getting ready for their friends’ wedding. They went ALL out getting manicures/pedicures, facial..high updo’s and makeup. I overheard that they had been there since 9am (it was 6pm then).

Got me thinking, how many of you dress-up and go all out for friends and what things would you do yourself and what would you ‘get done’ at a salon?

They were LOUD, I overheard them saying they planned on putting a tray infront of the groom with a glass of milk, cerelac and a bowl of green chilli’s infront of the poor dulha.. and the cost (hadiya) underneath the glass/bowls for the rasm. I feel terrible for the poor dulha already!

I'd get my hair done but that's it. But that's coz I do the rest of my stuff at home anyway and I do

If you regularly get a mani/pedi, have facials, then why wouldn't one do that for a friend's wedding?

They weren't regular, they all said it was their first time getting it all done.

They were there from 9am to 6pm?! :eek: I’m pretty sure brides don’t even take that long getting all dolled up.

For a close friends wedding I’d get my hair and mani/pedi done from a salon but I’d go home and do my own makeup.

i had a weddin an done everythin at home tha cuz my sis-in-law has done a health an beauty course (she does the makeup really nice)
only on the weddin day i had my hair done from the salon

an i didnt take me tha long

NO WAY, I went to a salon for makeup and hair on my sister's wedding and then my brother-in-law's wedding, but for a friend's... nahhhh, I do my own makeup and hair at home.

Poor dulha's probably gonna end up paying for their salon visit, I bet they will take that much money from him at least :p

I get my pedicure, hair and manicure done. Interms of makeup I think I do a better job on myself than any of the local MUAs could do.

For my sister's wedding, I got hair and makeup done. Took care of mani and pedi myself.

For friends' weddings, I have been doing it all myself. I think I do decent makeup and my hair isn't very long, I don't need to do much with it.

I just get my nails done for close friends/family weddings. Will go all out for my brothers though.

I would get my mani/pedi done probably a day before the event. And on the actual day I would just get my hair done and that's it, and that too depends on how big the event is. I prefer doing my own home facial and makeup.

9am to 6pm ? I don't know if I'd ever spend that much time getting ready for a friends wedding....It didn't take me that long to get ready for my own ?

i always do my own makeup and full-fledge makeup..i always luv doing that...except my wedding makeup i never went to a salon for makeup atleast...
@ my sis's wedding i did everything myself including the makeup and the hair...
@my bro-in-law's wedding i only got my hair style done for mehndi and shadi(not for walima) and did the makeup myself for all occasions after coming back from the salon...and when all the functions had finished my hubby's phopho asked me ironically makeup b parlour say he kraya tha? i said NO ..i did myself...!!!

I always do my own makeup (because I'm a makeup artist lol). I've gotten my hair done from others before, and would probably get it done again. Not sure about mani/pedi's ...I usually do those at home myself, and not too often..

From now on I shall only get my hair and manicure done. I can pretty much do the pedicure, makeup myself. I don't think I could do a decent job with a manicure unfortunately.
