I was hoping you could help me - I am interested in doing some bridal make up training and have looked into courses by the people mentioned - however I haven’t seen any RECENT reviews about anyone who have taken the courses and how good they are. I saw some feedback from 2008 about Lubna’s course and how good it is, but someone mentioned last month that she didn’t teach very well and it was a waste of money. I have also heard a lot of bad reviews about Joshivs training so have disregarded that idea. With Jawaad Ashraf also, I have seen acouple of posts from people who have taken his course years ago. Has anyone taken any of these courses recently, or know anyone that has taken any of them and have gone on to set up their own bridal make up business?
Any feedback would be great!

hey Mani, have u heard of Kaniz Ali makeup aritst based in London? If not search for "kaniz Ali makeup" on fb u should find her page her pics look promising. also ambreen is meant to be good.
haven't really heard good stuff about lubna rafiq. Naveeda IMO is all hyped up and joshiv is just rubbish!
There's a MUA based in Birmingham named "reckha" she does an amazing job the best I've seen. but she doesn't train others :(

i tink am a bit late to reply but anyway its ok. i got my makeup done from a lady called Rosey. OMG she awesomeeeee.
she specialize in Swarovski and people know her as swarovski artist.
she done my makeup in purely pakistani style even i was shocked and she also applied swarovski crystals on my eye lids and where ever i asked her.
she's also does swaroski work on Mehndi/Henna, body etc for speacial occasions like she done it for my wedding. amazing.
She made my big day sooooooooooooo special. worth every penny

I have done NVQ level 2 in beauty therapy from famibeauty in ilford. it is a local salon based institute. The teachers are actually qualified to teach and assess unlike LR's and Naveeda's! You learn, work in salon environment and also get qualified.

Have you tried Riz Khan - she is based in Berkshire/London/Heathrow and does make up training academies.
She has some reviews on her website of her trials and whenever I’ve used her as a make up artist she was really good. I was always pleased with what she did. She also once used me as a model for her student to practice on that was taking the make up training course and she seemed to be teaching really well and easily. Her student seemed to be learning pretty quickly and also enjoying themselves.

Hi, i recently completed the Lubna Rafiq course, the 5 day and the one to one with both Lubna and Uzma. I would like to give my honest opinion as after spending thousands of pounds i feel like i have been ripped off immensely. The 5 day course was pretty much a sham, they arrive late everyday and if you want to ask a question you’ll have a hard time getting even a few minutes of there time. When you finally do have their attention they rush you and give you a generic answer. I regret paying so much and not gaining much knowledge. The lunch and break times run on continuously, i would have liked to have more times learning rather then chit chatting with other girls. Also myself and other girls on the course agreed that they don’t reveal everything on the courses, many tips and tricks are kept a secret. On the one to ones, Lubna arrived late and didn’t listen to what i wanted to learn. She taught me looks she wanted that are now of no benefit to me now. I have big regrets on wasting my money.
