I have been researching on some topic but was not able to find the info I was looking for. So please assist me in filling out this table, for Abu Hurair and Hazrat Ali.
A) Year of becoming a Muslim
B) Year of Rasool Allah’s death
C) # of Years spent with Rasool Allah
(A – B)
D) # of Ahadiths quoted from these
Ashaabs in Sahi Bukhari
E) Average # of Ahadith /year spent with
Rasool Allah ( D / C)
Thanks
Re: Haidth
What he means to say is that since Hz. Ali
spent more time with the Holy Prophet :saw:, why are there more Ahadith attributed to Hz. Abu Huraira
than Hz. Ali
…
Simple…There is in fact another Hadith about Hz. Abu Huraira
and his incredible memory…
Now the question arises: Why are there even fewer Ahadith narrated from Hz. Abu Bakr
who knew the Holy Prophet :saw: well before he received the Prophethood?
Answer is, Abu Hurarira (razi) was part of the Ahl-e-Suffa, whose sole mission was to stay close to the Holy Prophet (saw) and observe, record, write and narrate everything he did…
Being exceptionally gifted with an awesome memory didn’t hurt either…
Re: Haidth
we've heard all this before....
curious guy, number of years someone spent with someone else has nothing to do with how many ahadith one narrates one from him....
here is a popular story maybe u've heard it before.....
when the Prophet (saw) approached death he asked his shirt to be given to awais qarni (ra)....
umar (ra) and ali (ra) took the shirt to him and were surprised why he shud be given this shirt....
so they asked him about it, and he asked them something about the appearance of the Prophet (saw) which neither of them cud answer cuz they said they were so much in awe of the Prophet (saw) that they never cud bring themselves to observe his features with such fixation....
perhaps the same companions were afraid to narrate a lot cuz they feared they might associate something wrongly with the Prophet (saw) and held accountable for it....
